OK, s the numbers might be a little bit out, but I'd like to take this opportunity to submit my own demo tape. I doubt it will appear as the title song, but maybe somone at EON will get a laugh. Here's an exceprt:

On the fifth day of Winehouse,
Blake Fielder-Civil game to me:
Five drugs accusations,
Four mumbled perfomances,
Three assault charges,
Two internet videos,
One rejected Visa
And seventy percent lung ca-pa-city ...

What do you do for an encore? A cheerful little ditty about the death camps, perhaps?

As for her performance at Glastonbury last night, I accidentally caught the whole lot of it and I was surprised by how erratic she wasn't. Sure she slurred and mumbled her patter between songs. But considering she'd done the Mandela concert the night before (and, by the way way, if she's good enough for Mandela, she's certainly good enough for James Bond), and did her full set at Glasto, my impression was that rumours of her unreliablity have been greatly exaggerated.

Good God, no!

That would be tasteless.

According to another Bond fan website that has MI6 in the name, but I won't say wich is, Duran Duran are keen on doing another Bond theme with Mark Ronson.

Yeah, I think it's a bit of a attention grab. If Casino Royale's schedule is anything to go by, we'll find out who is performing the song this month. EON are in the process of accepting demo tapes - assuming it's still open - but Duran Duran haven't recorded anything, and it's plain that they don't have a relationship with Mark Ronson (who wouldn't be the producer of the song as EON most likely have avid Arnold filling that role). While they may have had songs that were put together on short notice, I don't think a rush-job is going to work in this case ...

Duran Duran and Ronson are performing a concert together today. I believe in France. Check out the video on http://duranduran.com/main.html At one point they talk about Bond music. A paper is shown that says Bond Medley and Nick Rhodes(sp) comments on how beautiful it is. I think it's a long shot but who knows what may come from this collaboration

Was impressed with her on a recent 1 hour TV program here in Canada on "Much More Music" channel - Amy Winehouse at Shepherd's Bush. This was done about a year ago.

Someone has uploaded a segment:

I've noticed some up & coming singers seem to be emulating her musical style. Hope she gets the QoS theme.

I saw a revealing photo of her earlier today, just walking along the street! Let's just say I got to see her "other hairdo".

Is it also a beehive?

I'd be very impressed if it was. And also a little disturbed, it must be said.

So do I. She is a potentially perfect fit, but some people like to judge someone's ability to sing a three minute song for a film by every illegal and legal substance the Daily Mail tells them Winehouse is consuming in her (note I said "her") private life.

Maybe we're judging, but maybe we have somethng more than a tabloid rag to go by: her poor performances, her controversial and weird internet videos and so on. Sure, the tabloids report on them, too ... but they actually happened. We've heard nothing on her potential signing for ages, not even from the tabloids, so I think Winehouse doing the theme is nothing more than a pipe dream. The deathblow was when Mark Ronson said she wasn't ready to record new stuff.

I saw her performing live at Glastonbury a couple of weeks ago (on the TV of course; I wouldn't dream of doing something so common as attending a music festival;)). And she's capable, alright.

And isn't it funny, I happen to know from a previous career that the journalists gleefully reporting this stuff to their readers aren't exactly opposed to consuming illegal substances themselves.

I'm glad to hear it. She's still my #1 favourite to sing the track. Not that I have much hope for it to actually happen.

Mine, too. And my knowing it's p*ssing off so many on so-called "moral" grounds will double my pleasure if she actually gets the gig.

Yeah, she sounded quite okay at this year's Glastonbury, but it's only when you really watch her that you see something isn't right. However, if her voice is still in decent condition, maybe that's the most important thing for her.

Now I know who should do the theme:-

How about Kanye West, with a booming bass, strings, drums, Jimmy Page on over-the-top guitar and a huge orchestra arranged by David Arnold???
