I love seeing actual events and delimas in the world being portrayed through the world of bond, for example, witnessing the real life event of Britain handing off Hong Kong to the Chinese within the pages of zero minus ten.

another example is in the news today. The Facts of Death References the conflicts between Greek and Turkish factions on the island of Cyprus. Today the two sides have opened up Ledra Street, a major shopping street in Cyprus' capital of Nicosia. This street will not work as a border crossing, allowing citizens to move to and fro.

This doesn't relate to bond very much, but I just started reading The Facts of Death and then this shows up, so I figured I should mention it. I've only read a few chapters, so I don't know if anything happens in the book. only 1 way to find out...

If 007 is an agent of Britain, than using Cyprus and the Turkish-Greek problem is a must.
