Do you think the production on Bond 23 would be slowed down and/or pushed back while Eon Productions is working on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2009?
I wouldn't think so.

I was thinking the same thing, except without the song.I can see some cross-over stuff happening here.

What I'm hearing through my secret official sources is that they're combining them into one film called "Chitty Chitty Kiss Kiss Bang Bang." Apparently, upon completing QoS, Daniel Craig will be taking singing lessons for his part in the film.
At last, the Bond film we all deserve

Seems like something that would fit well in the '67 version of Casino Royale.

For the love of---- WHY????????
I'd have thought Eon could find fresher projects to bring to the screen.

I think this is all rumour and spoeculation. If true i wouldn't mind. I'm not going to see it I dislike musicals. Almost as much as Ernst Stavro Blofield hates marches (LOL)Wait, they're remaking CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG?

And with all of the films in that genre recently released or about to "Willy Wonka", "Dr Imaginum's Planetarium", "Lord Peddiput's Day Off", "Spiderwick Chronicles 2: Wrath of Khan", etc. ad nauseum - they decided to get a piece of the "family friendly period fantasy wackiness" pie.

Why should they do this. "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" would never be as successfull as ab Bond movie. And why the hell they want to do a remake?
Because it's their project to do with whatever they want, that's why. And who says it wouldn't be as successful as a Bond film. If they make a UNIVERSAL rated film, the audience demographics are wider than any Bond film.
Good luck to them.

I suspect that a CCBB movie would rely more heavily of people outside of the normal EON group - so MGW and BB wouldn't be as involved as in a Bond film.
I would beg to differ. CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG was a project dear to Cubby Broccoli's heart (he made the original as a film for his kids, particularly Barbara). She would be VERY involved, believe me.

i have looked everywhere, and EON has not said they'd be making a new CCBB. Do you have any proof?
Not sure if this is "proof" per se, but I think this topic grew out of the one I started just over a week ago, see:

At this point, though, they may be facing an uphill struggle. A lot of recent non-animated/CGI big-budget films aimed at a kid/family audience have underperformed such as The Golden Compass, CharlotteWhy should they do this. Whoever thinks Sean Connery can act really needs to think about him for a while.
I am not too sure what the revelance of this is?
And Are you suggesting that Sean actually tries to change his accent?

Inadvertantly carried over material from another post where I was quoting someone else. Fixed it. Let it not be thought that Turn has any doubts about Big Tam's acting ability.Whoever thinks Sean Connery can act really needs to think about him for a while.

I know, right! There's a reason CCBB is only shown on TV infrequently(I've only seen it on US TV a handful of times-I dunno about the UK).Why subject a whole new generation to it?

Yeah, they'll remake the remakes.Hollywood is remaking everything. And when they're finished, they're going to remake them all again.
In 3008, people will say:
"Hey, did you see the new Willy Wonka? It doesn't live up to the Depp version."

LOL, yep. In fact, I think they'll be saying that in 2048, never mind 3008.
