3PS sort of makes more sense for a Bond game as you actually get to see Bond. A first person shooter somehow seems to miss the point!

Yet, as I said, I'm fairly sure the game will be an FPS. Mostly. I think it'll have a cover system as well which makes it something of a hybrid.

When EA planned to make a Casino royale game its was going to be in 3 person shooting !!?
Or it will be FPS but in a different way ?I do not like that.

Based on some technical stuff I've seen, but I could be wrong. I can't say what Royale was going to be. I don't even know if EA knows. The project was canned not long after it started. I don't know if they even did any work on it. I think it was stopped in the pre-production stage.
I actually prefer first-person largely because I'm a huge PC gamer. Depends on the game you're trying to make though.

Well why they dont make the single player in third person , and the Multi-player in FPS , This will be a great .Why you sure it will be in this way ??I don't even understand what you just said.

Rather like 'The Golden Compass'.A FPS for QoS is fine by me. As for Craig not voicing the character, that would be a let down.

I recently read that some chap called David Houston could be voicing Bond and not Craig in the upcoming game. I thought we were past the days of not having the proper actor voice Bond since Everything or Nothing, but apparently not.
This is apparently true. I don't know why they couldn't get Craig. Maybe it was Craig's schedule or something.

Any links to this? I dunno, Craig probably can't be bothered to do it. Then again, neither could Broz...until they showed him the money

Really? I wonder if perhaps Craig refused to sign up to this (being a fancy actor and all that...)... or perhaps has to be paid a little too much...

MI6 posted a story late last year about it.
If it is the case I'm pretty disappointed about it. And I'd thought they'd found a way to include this sort of thing in his contract after these comments from Craig:

It was making it's way around a few blogs awhile back. To my knowledge there isn't a credible source yet. I don't think Craig is obligated and it's far cheaper for them to just pick up a guy who sounds like Craig or who sounds somewhat Bondian than to actually pay Craig. The game gets to use his likeness though. There's no question to that, which is what I imagine Craig was actually referring to. Heh.. and the only reason he didn't want to be involved with the game is because film licensed games generally suck and he like everyone else knows it. GoldenEye and the Chronicles of Riddick game are the only exceptions I can think of.

Sounds plausible enough - if I were him I'd be very reluctant to do any more than I had to...

I hope it is a TPS.
Yes, a TPS or a FPS would be fine. A TPS would be good to see the digital Craig and use the surroundings ala EON and FRWL.

CoD4 uses a proprietary engine that was developed specifically for first-person shooters. It's never been used for anything else to my knowledge. I don't think Activision and Treyarch would pick the Call of Duty 4 engine and then not use it for what it can do best. That seems ridiculous. I think it's obvious that Activision wants to recapture GoldenEye's "market" so a first-person shooter makes the most sense. I can see them making it a hybrid, but the majority of it will be FPS. I'd be shocked if this wasn't the case.

It Not object for Activision to do there own game to beat Rare goldeneye , but not in QoS movie .(I want to ask you a question:Give me a name of one movie that around to a game in FPS , and if it was it did't Succeeded ???Using the COD4 enginer doen't mean that the game will be in FPS !!!!!!!!!!See.

*but in which we you ""can see them making it a hybrid ""???

In fact, there wan't any formal news about this game !!!
And the emergence of a statement is that the game engine will be the COD4 engine don't mean that the game will go in that way .

This is also my opinion , it will be fully integrated game .A hybrid, it could work. Myself, I'd like to see a 3rd person perspective for the solo campaign, and FPS for the multiplayer. Those two in those areas seem to work best.

They won't do this. A hybrid, the way I've been using the term, means that the majority of the game may be in first person, but it may incorporate a third-person cover system or for example, Bond needs to rope down a wall or building - that sequence would be in third-person. It should be noted that Call of Duty 4 actually has lots of uses where the player slides down a rope (from a helicopter) etc.. and yet all of that is in first-person. If they are indeed using the CoD4 engine, which I imagine is true (but hasn't really been confirmed).
To do what you're talking about, I imagine it would most likely require two different dev teams and that's not the way Activision has all this set up.
