This early production still from Bond 20 showed that Neal Purvis and Robert Wade had decided to faithfully adapt Ian Fleming's You Only Live Twice, changing the setting from a Japanese fishing village to a Sioux reservation. The idea was soon scrapped, and they chose their backup script, which eventually became Die Another Day.

Pierce Brosnan poses for photographers at the start of filming for his new secret agent franchise. The former Bond star plays He-who-has-licence-to-kill, a Sioux secret agent with a penchant for sqaws, fire water, six shooters, saloons and designer hair extensions.
It was not clear at the time of writing who the elderly gentleman posing with Mr Brosnan is or what role he plays in the movie, only that his character is called "N".
At the same time it was announced that He-who-has-licence-to-kill's horse will not be provided by the Lipenzaler stables as rumoured. However, his watch will be the Omega Seamaster, as previously reported.
Mr Brosnan vehemently denied any similarities between his new film and the James Bond franchise.
