That earlier advert was cool, but with that we would have completely lost the gold theme. This keeps the gold theme and gives us croc!

That cover is sweet. I am snapping that book up when it is released.

It is the same as the other 3 books layout and size wise. I'm looking forward to seeing the back cover with the font and crocs on the back.

Again, such a brilliant cover. One of the very best.

This cover is the best Hurricane Gold cover to date. I liked the all gold theme, which this still retains, but you can't beat a good piece of artwork on the front. :D

Gold is in the name though. You don't have to use it as a theme on the cover especially if you already did it for the hardcover. Goldfinger wasn't gold and that one had more to do with gold then this one did.

True.

But I still like it. :D In fact, I think it's my favorite of the UK covers.

Very nice. Glad they decided to release it in line with the other three Young Bond paperbacks

I'm guessing it's subject to change, but interesting to see Charlie's name is slightly larger than on the other covers. Could this be due to the fact he's now a "mega-selling" author?

Yeah, I noticed that too. Also notice the Young Bond logo is alone in the corner. Usually it's merged with a sentence about it being a "bestseller". I expect we will see some changes. I'm actually surprised we're seeing this as early as we are.

Hopefully not too many. This one seems to work well just as it is.

Hopefully they won't give it a sparky sheen that obscures the art like the did for the early Silverfin pbs and the German DoD.

Yes it is. I got an updated high res version from Puffin. More golden, and note Charlie's name is now in red. I kept the old one in my Hurricane Gold gallery so you can see them side by side.

I'm sure I was in a bookshop and saw a paperback HG, should it have been released yet, there was no croc?

It was probably the international paperback, which is basically an exact paperback copy of the hardback edition. It's all gold with the wraparound band that features on the hardcover.

These editions are for sale in Asia and Australasia, as well as airports in the UK.

Could it possibly have been the international paperback you saw, 003.5?

Did it look similar to the hardback or did it actually feature the normal paperback's croc?

EDIT: Looks like [dark] is assuming the same as me. :D

I wonder if this UK Hurricane Gold paperback version will be availabe in Australia, or would shipping be the best bet?

Kind of. Penguin Australia published their own paperback edition of Double or Die (which is virtually identical to the UK edition); I'd say they'll do the same when Hurricane Gold is released as a paperback.

Another reason to nab the HG paperback. It's going to have a Young Bond 5 preview.

Penguin Australia have a picture of the cover. It looks a little different, may just be the angle

Interesting. It looks like a scan of the actual book and it's been given the all-gold treatment. I don't know. I liked the yellow cover where you can see all the detail. But hard to know what this looks like until we see one in the flesh.

Thanks for the find, sharpshooter.

At best, from the looks of the hi-res shot, I'm thinking the cover is shiny or reflective of some sort (maybe like SilverFin) and it just doesn't scan very well.

Appears to be just that judging by the pic.

Kind of disappointing that it's going for that shiny gold once again. I thought that the cover art as we first saw it looked even better.

But I suppose it will be more fair to judge once the book is in my hands.
