The Shadow War
Pretty interesting title. "War" has never been used in a Bond title before, and as we know YB5 is about Russian and German spies and the early intrigue that led to WWII, could be perfect.
Thoughts?

The 'the' part of the title is off putting a tad, where as the other titles were tight and straight to the point. Perhaps just 'Shadow War' to fit in with SilverFin, BloodFever and Hurricane Gold for the final title.

I for one can't wait to find out about Oberhauser, the incident with the school maid, and the end of Bond's days at Eton.

Hey, with the quality of stuff Charlie's bringing out now, you can call it what you want.

Me either. Charlie is writing some gold here, pardon the pun. Shadow War would sound pretty good though.

I just restarted the poll.Hey, something went wrong with the poll. I edited my top post and all the votes vanished. Is there a mod in the house?

Great main page headline, Mister Asterix.

I agree, sharpshooter. Dropping "the" somehow kicks the title up a notch and makes it very much a Young Bond title (which is slightly different animal from a "Bond" title). I like 'The Shadow War'. I think I might love 'Shadow War'. Wonder if the publishers will have some issue using "war" in the title of a children's book? The 'the' part of the title is off putting a tad, where as the other titles were tight and straight to the point. Perhaps just 'Shadow War' to fit in with SilverFin, BloodFever and Hurricane Gold for the final title.

I do agree with zencat that a Young Bond title is a different beast to a James Bond title - what I like about this is that "The Shadow War" bridges that gap nicely. It works as both.
(Still disappointed Double or Die wasn't titled "The Deadlock Cipher", though! )

Quite agree.
Personally I like the title, though it really doesn't feel like a Bond title.
But then again neither did Blood Fever and that's one of my all-time favorite Bond books.

If they make it, Shadow War. And I have to say I love it. Something I'll be looking out for.
Indeed. I think so too, but wont be fussed either way if this is the title.
A black cover would be fitting for this kind of title, much similiar to the one featured on the YB Dossier.

Guess I'm one of the few who is impartial to the 'The.'
I just voted and it looks like i am the sole "Hate It" vote so far.
It sounds too sci-fi for my taste, like something out of Star Wars or Babylon 5.

That's Mister Asterix's fine work.I love the fan art of a possible "The Shadow War" cover on the YB Dossier.

Someone on Wikipedia claimed this title is now the official title. I asked them for the source. They didn't reappear.
That guy doesn't know what he's talking about. He said it was confirmed and any confirmation of the title would have come directly from IFP, thus we would know. He probably read your site and missed the part where it was said to be a working title.

I think when some of the international sites picked up the news they didn't quite understand the idea of "working title" and reported it as THE title.Someone on Wikipedia claimed this title is now the official title. I asked them for the source. They didn't reappear.
