I really liked Hurricane Gold. Some nice Fleming references and the heroine was great. She was an obvious precursor to Vesper and Tracy. The Dr No rat race homage was fantastic and imaginative. I like the way James is maturing into the Bond we know. If I had to gripe, I would say the whole journey slowed events down, and I found the Manny character's injury a bit odd and superfluous. But I always enjoy Higson's writing, and it is one of my favourites. I am looking forward to the next and final book, something tells me it will be the best one.

Bloedkoorts (Bloodfever)
Gevaarlijk Spel (Double Or Die) due for release in March 2008.

I like Missie Silverfin the most.
The story of the young James Bond is told.
That is what i liked the most.

His history.

For me, the drive with Manny the Girl was the highlight of the book. I thought it was funny and terrifying at the same time. One of my favorite moments in the series so far.

I sure he means the Open Market edition -- unless he brought it back with him from the future.

It's the one currently for sale in Australia & New Zealand, and like most books released here these days they are actually printed in the UK.

It happened in Fleming's day. There are a handful of errors in the Fleming books that were corrected within the first print run. The errors are very small. A missing "t" on the word "shoot" in MR -- even a printers smudge (a "quad mark") in TSWLM. But these errors effect value. Interestingly, it's not always the error copies that become more desirable. It's whichever is more scarce.

BTW, I asked Puffin about this, but the HG editor wasn't in this week.

Nope, never heard back. Maybe I'll remind them next time we talk...or not. I don't want to overdue it, you know? I fear I could easily become a fanboy pest with things like this. They are busy folk.

I have 4 copies of the HG hardcover and all have this error. My guess is this was not corrected in the first print run (and maybe not at all), which means it doesn't have any effect on the value.
