You learn something new about Bond everyday...
Just about started a thread about Cameos until I found this thread. Anyway here is a image and youtube clip.
Anyone here friends with or know anyone at Bondmovies.com? Here is there list of cameos and its missing Butler's.

The only bad thing about knowing about these is that you'll never be able to un-see them. Every time I watch these movies from now on I'll be watching for the cameos.

I wouldn't have thought Butler would be a cameo, because back in '97 he was still quite unknown and this was only his second film appearance after 1996's 'Mrs Brown'.
A cameo would be a small role from someone almost breaking the 4th wall of being famous in the time to appear in a film, like Sir Richard Branson (CR), Madonna (DAD) or Wayne Newton (LTK).

Your right. Its more like a before they were famous gig.
Strangely enough I came across it after seeing Val Kilmer's wikipedia page says he was in TSWLM. his IMBd page only goes back to 1984 so I googled Kilmer TSWLM then came across a few threads from other Bond sites about it but know one was able to confirm it or not. Then I seen the Butler appearance.

Butler did mention this when he was on The Graham Norton Show (BBC) along with Tom Cruise a couple of months back. He tells an amusing story about how is lines kept getting cut until he had only one left to say.

Quite a few familiar faces on those ships, including Hugh Bonneville (US viewers may know him from Downton Abbey).

I found something on MI6 community, one guy said "He plays a lead seaman on the HMS Devonshire that gets attacked by Stamper and company. He has one line. He shouts something amid the chaos of the sub being flooded. He even has a credit in the end-credits."

My thoughts exactly!
