Shame, that.

For all my problems with the continuity and anti-Flemingisms in the previous two books, I've enjoyed my annual Autumnal meeting with Kate Westbrook these past two years - her books are cracking reads and among the best of the continuations. I will miss the couple of evening's fun I'd have as the nights draw in.

Anybody else think 2008 isn't going to be a bit overcrowded, a little too much overkill?

From this angle, 2008 is shaping up rather nicely.

BTW, do we think THIS might be the pre-order page for Volume 3? This has been on Amazon for a long time and I've been watching it. But because it said "paperback" and listed the release as July, I didn't think it could be Book 3. Maybe just a reprint of Book 1. But now with news of the July release...maybe. And that price doesn't seem like a paperback price to me. Something to watch.

Seems pretty likely if going by the release date. I would have expected the list price to be higher though considering there was a price jump from The Moneypenny Diaries: Guardian Angel to Secret Servant: The Moneypenny Diaries. We'll see. :cooltongue:

I now have the exact release dates from the publisher, and the cover prices. Volume 3 hardback will be released on 10 July, 2008 at

So is it "The Moneypenny Diaries: Final Fling" or "Final Fling: The Moneypenny Diaries" :cooltongue:

Contrary to early cover art for the second Moneypenny Diaries novel, both books have been titled with the subtitle as the second part of their name. Accordingly, we can expect it to be called The Moneypenny Diaries: Final Fling... and I can

Well that's not what Amazon says. IFP hasn't updated their website in quite a while either.

Is it printed inside the book as that? (Secret Servant that is)

I would assume it to be The Moneypenny Diaries: Final Fling. In the case of Secret Servant, on the title page "The Moneypenny Diaries" is listed first on one line while "Secret Servant" follows in a smaller font a little further down.

Great stuff, zen. If this third novel is anywhere near as good as the first two, we're in for a real treat.

Absolutely LOVED The Moneypenny Diaries: Secret Servant.

And here we thought this was going to be a big news week for Young Bond. It's been all Penny.

Mysteries of 'The Moneypenny Diaries' to be solved in concluding instalment

I love it.

It sounds like a totally ballsy plot - I think it's great that those behind the film and literary 007 are delivering the untraditional now.

I wonder how IFP will deal with the events of Moneypenny 3 in the timeline of Devil May Care; after all, if Moneypenny 3 has both Bond and M out of MI6 by 1965, how will that sit with the events of DMC in 1967?

Will IFP care? The Moneypenny Diaries have hardly respected continuity, many times without thought :D

However, it will be interesting if IFP allow two books to be published with the same month which MIGHT apparently contradict each other. :P

I was wondering that as well. Colonel Sun is also a factor that should be taken into consideration. And what does it mean by "sacked"? Killed?

Sacked is (largely) a British term typically meaning fired though it could be any sort of "dismissal" from a job.
