Featuring the original unused gunbarrel, and an anti-piracy warning.

So what is the deal with this piracy warning - I assume that a workprint/rough cut of the film was leaked and being sold all over the UK at car boot sales and such?

Wow, that's pretty rare, indeed. Great dubbing!

No, it really does beat the actual trailer. Great use of the original arrangement of the Bond theme. Whose decision was it to use the LALD Bond theme in the official trailer anyway? :cooltongue:

Great trailer! I really like this version of the gunbarrel.

As for the official trailer they used, I think it was a good idea to use George Martin's theme. It gave the film a fresh feeling.

Nice find, RD.

Ironically, that's the same gunbarrel they use on the pirate TLD!

One clip I have been looking for are screen tests of actors who did not get the job... though it would be interesting to see the ones for those who got it. I remembering reading that there was one of Sam Neil included on, I believe, the Living Daylights on an earlier release but they had to get rid of it. I got the complete set that came out with Die Another Day and it does not have any I don't think. I did read that the Ultimate Series has several (see the quote below from Wikipedia). Is that true... are there any availble online?

Cheers

Here is the Wikipedia quote (http://en.wikipedia....with_Love_(film)_:

"This screen test forms part of the Ultimate Edition Dvd series, showing potential candidates auditioning for the role down the years: James Brolin, Sean Bean and Sam Neill along with future 007 Pierce Brosnan. The scene has also been used to audition several James Bond leading ladies, including Maryam D'Abo and Maud Adams"

I've removed the earlier video, and uploaded a new one with a sharper image, and less flicker.

Here's the new one:

It was on an old Odeon cinemas trailer reel I got hold of.

Always wanted to see the bootleg version, purely to notice any differences. It states that a lot of the special effects shots are not complete, does this mean no opening credits after "better make that two" ?

This trailer was awesome. Dalton rocked as 007. The Living Daylights was my favorite of his Bond movies, and one of my favorite all time Bond movies.

Why was this not included on the DVD?

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but there is another OHMSS trailer that never made the DVD, however it did make the last VHS release.

Inquiring minds want to know about, well, both trailers now.

A bright spark on YouTube has re-edited the alternate gunbarrel footage from this trailer, and made close to a proper gunbarrel sequence out of it.

It works pretty well. :cooltongue:

I can see why they scrapped that gunbarrel! There's something pretty campy about the way Dalton jumps into position.

That's the trailer I originally saw in the UK. I knew there was one like that.

There was also another UK one done for Licence To Kill which had Sanchez discussing the 'ludicrous' story that Krest was giving him on the Wavekrest, which was interspered with the action scenes. That never made it on the DVD either.

They don't seem to have worked very hard on the trailers for the DVDs. There was a fabulous 3 minute one for OHMSS whic made it onto a UK video release but not the DVD release!

Nice find, but I'm glad they didn't actually use that sequence, the hop Dalton makes is almost silly. Glad he didn't do that in his movies as well.

Looks like he's hopping over something or like something startled him.

I can just see it, Bond strolling down the sidewalk, someone says, "BOO", Bond is startled, jumps and shoots his friend playing a practical joke on him.

IMHO, the CR sequence is the best ever (just too many lines in the barrel), followed by OHMSS, followed by GE. Never liked the imbalanced wobble of the Connery movies, and the rather whimpy and mundance Moore one's.

And WOW! Has anyone run the audio of Craig's gunfire in the CR sequence through a great home stereo system??? - what a BANG! Don't you think?

I love that gunbarrel pose. Maybe Craig can imitate it in Bond 22.
