Before the film came out I was absolutely sickened by the childish behavour of the people from the website danielcraigisnotbond.com and how they had passed judgement on Daniel Craig before even a frame of film had been shot. After seeing CR I am laughing my [censored] off at them!

The film is AMAZING in every way, the foot chase at the start of the film alone had more action and thrills than the last few Bond films combined... I was bouncing in my seat like a hyperactive 5 year old... the film could have ended there and I would have got my moneys worth! But it just got better!!!

The acting is great, the stunts amazing, the scenery breathtaking and the story suburb... it was like they took the best parts of every other Bond film, combined them and made something 10 times better!!!

I was so glad they got rid of the gadgets... the Q scenes in all the recent Bonds all seemed to consist of Bond being given a rediculous piece of technology that had one INCREDIBLY specific task (ie- a ring that can shatter bulletproof glass) that would somehow be required later in the film (these scenes always seem to be reverse engineered by the writers, so that whenever they wrote themselves into a corner they could just use a gadget and make sure to write it into the Q scene later).

I did miss Moneypenny and would have loved to have seen a scene where she and James meet for the first time, but it wouod have been surplus to requirements... SIGH!!!

To the people from DCinB who still continue with their rediculous campaign while claiming to be Bond fans... get a clue! Your don't DESERVE to see a film this good! You can sit at home watching DAD and trying to figure out how that whole invisible car thing is supposed to work :cooltongue:

I agree completely. I was a Daniel Craig naysayer before this film - didn't think he'd be good but now that I've seen it, I think the film was great, and I think he was spectacular. I cannot wait for the next one, and will watch every other film he's in besides now. He was delicious!!

Didn't think much of the girl - she had an odd robotic motion to her speaking that was off putting the entire time.

GO DANIEL - YOU ARE AWESOME!!

hello everyone! new member here.as you can guess from my username,i think daniel craig is the worst thing to ever hae happened to the bond series.when he was first announced as bond,i thought it was a joke.alas,it was not to be.
now,im not one of those boycotters over at craignotbond.com,i did see the film and hoped craig would prove me wrong but im sorry,he is the WORST BOND EVER!!!
mr craig just does not have the classic bond looks.in fact, even though i hate to say it..HE IS EXTREMELY UGLY!!!.james bond is supposed to be a suave, sophisticated, handsome womaniser and craig just does not fit the bill.
craig is a good actor but i wish he had not accepted the role.pierce brosnan was the greatest bond ever!

I really hated Brosnan (though I love him in Remington Steele and other films) as Bond, so to each his own I suppose..

We're a pretty good group, Craigisworstbond, but there are a lot of Craig fans out there (myself very much included) so don't get too disheartened if people are a little errrr spikey to your reactions to Craig :cooltongue:

If you haven't already been there, you should check out the Brosnan section under films.. you'll find a lot of other Pierce fans there

hello everyone!

Hello!

new member here.

Welcome to the CBn forums!

as you can guess from my username,i think daniel craig is the worst thing to ever hae happened to the bond series.

Wow!

when he was first announced as bond,i thought it was a joke.alas,it was not to be.

I'm glad that it wasn't a joke!

he is the WORST BOND EVER!!!

mr craig just does not have the classic bond looks.in fact, even though i hate to say it..HE IS EXTREMELY UGLY!!!.

I find him to be EXTREMELY SEXY! :cooltongue: And as far as him not having the classic Bond looks. I agree. It's different, but I like how different and yet how similiar it is. IMO, Roger Moore didn't have the classic Bond looks... he looked nothing like Mr. Connery, but people consider him to be a great Bond. I agree that he is. Craig is different, but in a good way. I enjoyed him in Casino Royale.

james bond is supposed to be a suave, sophisticated, handsome womaniser and craig just does not fit the bill.

I thought Mr. Craig fit the bill quite nicely!

craig is a good actor but i wish he had not accepted the role.

I am glad that Mr. Craig took on the role of our beloved James Bond. He gave us a breath of fresh air, that i doubt any other actor could have given us. Personally, I was sick of all the cheese ball who is known as Pierce Brosnan. He is a fine actor, but the material was getting a bit too old and over done. Boooring! *yawn* Craig keeps me on the edge of my seat. Not only in Casino royale, but in other movies that he is in.

pierce brosnan was the greatest bond ever!

He was a fine James Bond, but not my favorite!

I would say that the suaveness and other "classic" elements we all know and expect will be in the next one.

DC was more believable as a secret British agent than PB, even tho I enjoyed PB films a lot, just didn't seem like someone who could be a modern Bond.

Anyway, welcome to CBN. Be prepared for flames.

brosnan was a 'fine' james bond in goldeneye .. then thats it.

his other 3 outins were growin more dire with each successive film ... he'd have killed the franchise if he took the lead in casino royale.

brosnan was a competent but borin bond. and that boredom onscreen was evident , nay BLATANT in DAD.

and to all the ladies i've spoken too , they all find craig as sexy as hell. im a man and couldnt possibly comment on such trivia ! :cooltongue:

daniel craig is a bond all men aspire to ... brosnan certainly wasnt.

Brosnan was pretty good in GOLDENEYE, but I think that he was better in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.

To be honest I'm glad Daniel proved me wrong. :cooltongue:

The man is James Bond from start to finish in Casino Royale. None of the previous actors have portrayed this kind of Bond ever. He's sexist, coldhearted, cold blooded, patroitic, and a complete punkarse. I have to say that hands down: this is what James Bond is supposed to be and especially in a world like this? I welcome it with open arms.

Yeah, I just saw it again. If he'd given that performance in a different film and they were casting Bond right now, the call for him to play 007 would be practically universal. Owen, McMahon, etc., wouldn't even be mentioned in the running.

well i think daniel is great, but one cannot deny that pierce was also very good. it just a shame that they choose to make some really formuliac movies during his time. i mean i watch brosnan in the fourth protocol and realise that he is a bloody good actor and knows how to potray dark characters and perhaps would have done as well had he been given compelling scripts, but unfortunately like many of the films of sir roger moore's era they chose to allows f/x, stunts and chases be the focus. i mean i have seen sir roger in films such as the ffolkes and the man who haunted himself or even the saint and know he is a very good actor but then it is unfortunate that he too like pierce was seldom given a chance.

i just hope pierce produces some really good cold war spy movies which includes all that he wanted to do with bond but couldnt.

Well said, Red Grant. After all, it is the producers who ultimately approve the scripts and get the directors. We can truely lay the responsibility with Harry and Cubby, and now with Barbara and Michael. The five actors prior to Craig had to work with what they were given, said scripts and directors.

I'm just so dog-gone happy with Barbara and Michael's current decision-making process.

I don't agree that bond is supposed to be handsome, he is supposed to be attractive!!
as far as i'm concerned, there is a big difference between the two..
and if you ask me, dear daniel is VERY attractive, that's all that matters!
it's presence and aura more than just good looks...

I completely buy that he could seduce Eva Green. And more imortantly, I buy all of the physical stuff, which IMO wasn't as easy to buy with Brosnan.
