Actually while IMDB was not around in 1994, the internet was and in 1994/1995 I was a regualr user at alt.fan.jamesbond. The overall reaction was positive and people were just glad that Bond was going to be back on the big screen. I imagine many people felt that LTK was going to be the last in the series.
