I hope Martin Campbell returns for Bond 22! He's a great director plus he would know exactly where to go from Casino Royale. Who's with me?

Definitely - I'd like to see some consistency in direction, unlike the constant changing during the Brosnan era.

Campbell's probably my favorite Bond director, so he's welcome to direct as long as he's up for it. :)

I should qualify that statement though - As much as I love Campbell, I definitely don't want another homogenized John Glen-esque era that would cause the series to stall its momentum.

I had always said that I would have to wait until I saw Casino Royale to decide whether or not I'd be in favor of Martin Campbell returning simply because I was not all that impressed with GoldenEye. With that said, however, I think that Campbell did a fantastic job with Casino Royale and should be brought back for Bond 22.

Definitely want him back. He's got the innovative mind of Terence Young, and deserves the longevity of John Glen.

I'd love to see him return for Bond 22.

Do I think it will happen? No.

Do I think it will happen? No.

Why?

He's got time to rest plus he's not committed to any other projects as of right now.

He said no/probably not in every different interview (whether in magazine or elsewhere) I've read where he was asked the question.

Money talks and Casino Royale is certainly making a lot of it.

I think he said the only reason he did CR was because it was the first Fleming novel. Maybe if they can translate another Fleming novel to screen (using un-used elements) they could lure him back. A nice paycheck wouldn't hurt either.

We'll certainly see! Like I said, I'll be very happy if he returns.

I think they need to involve as much of the team that made CR as possible for at least Craig's trilogy or however many he wants to make, and I think with the success of the film it will energize everybody

I either want Campbell (who did an outstanding job with CASINO ROYALE), or LAYER CAKE director Matthew Vaughn.

After GoldenEye, didn't he say that he would never direct a Bond film again?

I believe he said to the effect that if he was asked again (after GoldenEye) he would knock it back because he didn't like the direction Bond was heading.

I guess the Babs & Micky G. Bondwagon went to him after Die Another Day and said: "Guess what, we want Bond to go in the direction YOU want! How about it, Soupy?"

Anyway, I voted "YES" in the poll.

I think that this is the most important reason as to why Campbell should come back. There needs to be a good continuity between these two films so that the YOLT/OHMSS/DAF continuity problems do not occur again.

With GE and CR now on the C.V, you'd have to say he's a safe bet.

I don't want him back if he's not totally motivated. One of the reasons why Brosnan's Bonds were so consistenly successful is because they kept bringing in new directors (with new charged up batteries).

Campbell I thought did a great job with CR partially because he hadn't done one in 10 years. If he keeps doing them, he might end up like John Glen doing AVTAK or Guy Hamilton doing TMWTGG. Even Hamilton said he turned down Thunderball because he was so out of ideas after doing GF.

Same here. Looking at LAYER CAKE, it's easy to see why Vaughn was considered for CASINO ROYALE.
