The Fifth Annual Bond Collectors' Weekend is set for
Friday, August 30 to Monday, September 2, 2002 (Labor Day Weekend) in San Francisco.

Check out all the details at http://www.007Forever.com/

Sounds like this could be the greatest of them all! I'll be there.

I wish I could be there as well! But alas, it isn't possible financially :) But I can promise that CBn will cover the even as closely as we can. I'm hoping to make the 2003 BCW. It's on my "To Do" list. But that's still all tenative. Depends on where I'm studying and what I'm studying.

Who do you think the mystery guest is Zencat?

Well I know that San Fancisco is the home of AVTAK but I did notice a few quotes from the film. If one were to assume them as a clue, perhaps its a cast member from the film. Perhaps Patrick Macnee?

But that seems to small a thing to hold as a surprise. Surely they'd just announce him. So it has to be someone bigger. Does anyone like Michael G Wilson or perhaps Dana Broccoli live out in California somewhere?

Well... I'm bringing along my copies of James Bond The Spy Who Love Me and James Bond and Moonraker just in case this mystery guest is a certain star who played Mr. Bond in those films... But that might be too much to hope for.

Hey, maybe it's Grace Jones. That would be a kick!

If it's Roger Moore I'll just cry cause I'm not there :)

Hmmm maybe if I knew I'd have the extra motivation to work my :) off these coming holidays at work so I could afford to attend :)

...or a certain author that wrote those novels? :)

It's a good thing Xenobia is planning on working a double shift come July...perhaps she can go on one long vacation, and then one shorter one...Hmmmm....

But then again, I don't really collect that much Bond memorabilia...only certain movies, and only certain things.

What do you think Zen? Is it worth the trip?

-- Xenobia

PS: My guess for a surprise guest would be Patrick McNee. I think Babs, Mikey G., and Roger will probably be busy with all the 40th anniversary celebrations going on.

I've already Fed-Exed my registration fees and info. The powers that be should have it in the next hour;)

I'll see you there Zencat....I think I know one or two restaurants that need to be closed by us yet again. Also, I may challenge you on the road. The Jag and I are making the drive and I plan to be on the lookout for "the next girl" along the way...I don't know if I can take on a Ferrari.

As to the "mystery guest", I'm going to suggest Lazenby. I heard he has a house in San Jose or somewhere aroung the Bay area. Someone mentioned Macnee, he lives most of the year in Palm Desert. Whatever the case, I'm sure Matt & Alan (The GODS of BCW) won't let us down.

As to any of you that are considering joining in, GO FOR IT! These are the best gathering of Bond fans...aside from here in the forum.

Xen, put in the overtime my dear. It's worth it.

I say the last one there buys the first round of martinis.

Watch your rear view mirror with fear, my friend.

I'm generally fearful of any black german luxury sedan coming up on me at high speed;)I have had "a few optional extras installed" recently. I hope you have the standard re-inflating tires...

You're on for the martini's.

Bryce and Zencat:

While you guys are dueling on the road...do you think one of you can give a ride?

I may be good at many things...driving is definately not one of them.

I'm not sure how that should be taken....

I'm planning on leaving the 28th and staying through the 3rd-4th. Some friends of mine will be returning from "Burning Man" the 2nd, so I'm extending my stay.

Also, I am bringing along a Femme Fatle' of my own, but there's plenty of room.

*note to self

- Add an extra glass to the hidden chilled champagne compartment.

"Tell M we've left, but don't say which direction we've taken."

What? Hope this doesn't mean you're going to have to behave yourself, Mr. Bryce. I'm going to need a mind as twisted as my own to really enjoy myself. Xen, looks like you

Not to worry. She's a friend whose a Bond fan waiting in the wings. Hopefully the weekend will bring her into the fold. Lovely girl. Shaking your hand one minute, breaking it the next. There a bit of "Flicka" to her.

It should be fun my friend.

It's getting near time to initiate "PLAN B"

You know...really gentlemen!

Bryce: If I was asking you for something other than a ride in your car, I wouldn't do it publicly, and I wouldn't put it that way!

Zencat: I do intend to attend this affair, if I can get the airfare together. But a twisted mind? Just what have you read of mine to lead you to that conclusion?

:)

I think I shall just have to sell some Bond possessions to work on that airfare...LOL!
