The late singer-songwriter Warren Zevon was also a huge Bond fan.

Not that I really care about celebrities and i suspect most like Bond at a least a casual capacity but who the bleep is "david walliams "?

Per thread: JFK was perhaps the most famous Bond fan ever...and his womanizing ways make that distinction more interesting.

Tom Hanks talks about Bond a LOT when he's on talk shows - he usually brings it up randomly too :-)

On Conan (I think), he gave the most hilarious explanation of Felix Leiter. "He doesn't do anything throughout the whole movie, but he's always the guy on the boat at the end that says, 'Heh heh, you did it again, James!'" And he also talked about how it's always a different guy, and sometimes he's black.

Tom Hanks immediately came to my mind as well. He seems to adore the Bond films.

He's currently one of the most famous people in the UK, thanks to "Little Britain", a hit BBC TV comedy show he writes and performs with one Matt Lucas. Would make an excellent replacement for Craig if they decided to take the series in a very zany direction (i.e. so zany as to make OCTOPUSSY look like LICENCE TO KILL).

Funnily enough, he was heavily rumoured a while back for a (never-specified) supporting role in CASINO ROYALE, but it doesn't look as though it's happened.

I gather that Jeremy Clarkson (I expect you'll want to know who he is too, Tarl :) ) and Jonathan Ross are also big Bond fans.

Mike Meyers has always acknowledged his love as Bond as the genesis for Austin Powers.

He heard "The Look of Love" from the original Casino Royale soundtrack and created the character in his head after that - in front of his wife.

Write it down, write it down! she said, and 3 films later...

He's a journalist and television presenter who specıalıses in cars. He probably wouldn't be nearly as famous as he is were it not for his (doubtless rather tongue-in-cheek and exaggerated) image as an ultra-macho and politically incorrect man of adventure. Bond without the licence to kill, then (or, if you prefer, a sort of British version of John Goodman's character in THE BIG LEBOWSKI).

I remember reading an interview with him a few years back in which he praised Dalton's Bond on the grounds that one of the first things he did in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS was headbutt someone!

Actually, I believe the Queen is a Bond fan. I seem to recall reading somewhere that she holds, or used to hold, a weekly private screening at her cinema in Buckingham Palace, usually choosing a Bond film. Dunno how true that is, obviously. But note that CASINO ROYALE has been chosen for this year's Royal Film Performance (and that DIE ANOTHER DAY was 2002's Royal Film Performance).

Yes, as someone else mentioned, Steven Spielberg is a big Bond fan. He said he chose Robert Shaw to be Quint in Jaws, based on seeing Shaw in 2 roles - King Henry VIII in "A Man for all Seasons", and Red Grant in FRWL. In fact, the fight scene in the latter is one of Spielberg's favourite scenes in any movie.

Other Bond fans:-

Robbie Williams
Bono
David Walliams
Jonathan Ross
Michael Parkinson (another famous British TV chat show host, like Ross)
Eddie Murphy

Alluding to another concurrent post, Anthony Burgess of "A Clockwork Orange" fame knew bond fairly well.

Could anyone imagine if Kubrick ever directed a bond film?!?! Maybe a different topic...

Liam Howlett from the prodigy is a big bond fan.In fact,in some prodigy shows he even used to use a theme [from TMWTGG] as a link between songs!!! And also one of their songs Mindfields, the main riff is identical [apart from one note] to the bit in TMWTGG where bond is in the car with liutenant yip,and then switches to scaramanga on the boat :)

John Taylor of Duran Duran is a big Bond fan. He bought an Aston Martin DB5 and has said his favorite film is Dr. No. I wouldn't doubt he was key in helping the band land AVTAK.

I'm not sure if he's still a fan, but Paul McCartney was a Bond fan for a while. He attended the Goldfinger premiere, drove an Aston Martin (not sure what make), he and the other Beatles were reading Bond books when Beatlemania and Bondmania were reaching their peaks. He was rumored to be doing the DAF score, and eventually did the LALD theme, one of the most popular songs in the series.

Laurence Fishburne is. At the TWINE premiere he was approached on the red carpet by whatever asinine celebrity-toadying fool was talking to the hoi polloi in front of the theater. The guy asked him if he had his eye on the new BMW Bond was driving in the movie. Fishburne dismissed him by saying something to the effect of, "Of course not. I've got my eye on the new Aston Martin DB7."
