Hopefully it will be repaired for Bond 22. I'm sure it will be.
Indeed. I wouldn't expect it to be out of action for that long.

Still, shouldn't be too big of a deal to re-build. Almost a given that it'll be up and running in plenty of time for Bond 22.

It's been almost 12 hours since I started this topic and news of the fire broke out, can only wonder how long it will take for further details (such as the cause) and reaction from EON to come out.
On the subject of the schedule for BOND 22, has there been any mention of whether they will be filming predominantly in Prague again? If the producers were still considering whether they may return Pinewood, I suppose this may make their decision for them.
A very sad turn of events.
Seeing the amount of money EON saved by filming most of the stuff in Prague, I think the choice for Bond 22 is already quite obvious.

I hear that Ken Adam is free at the moment.
"wait until he gets ashore, then make him rebuild the 007 set".
LOL!
You know, why not? Ken Adam has overseen construction of Fort Knox, a volcano and a supertanker all in the same location. He'd be perfect to design a great new 007 stage.
Not too bad an idea at all.

Ta, Bud. Maybe he AND Peter Lamont could re-design the now 'unsound' stage and make it even more state-of-the-art.

It's going to be interesting what the insurers have to say. I bet they find some excuse or motive not to pay the full premium.
In any event. Pinewood without the Bond stage would be unthinkable.
Cheers,

A quick update to say that it is to be demolished before being rebuilt.
No surprises then but It progresses.

It was tragic news this fire, but if it was going to happen at all it might as well have been now i.e. mere weeks after a new Bond film is in the can. There's plenty of time to start rebuilding it before Bond 22 gets into full swing, and even if there isn't, the release date won't be as affected as it would have done had this happened in August of next year.
There wouldn't be any effect on the release date - they'll just film somewhere else.

I know Rog opened it in 19(frozen to death), but who opened it this time?
Would be interesting if someone could throw some light on this.

Casino Royale had engaged First Imperial Services to dismantle the set … First Imperial had subcontracted the dismantling … to J Male & Son, who had in turn subcontracted the work to Downton Structures. It was Downton that was actually carrying out the cutting work.”
Seriously, wft? How many levels of subcontractors here. This is how happens.

Because unfortunately in this world today everything is allied to cost. Everything has to be done the cheapest it can. The fact that it screws loyalty and the professional pride of doing a job right is no longer even considered. Don't get me started!!!Seriously, wft? How many levels of subcontractors here. This is how happens.
