After several years of searching I finally got John Gardner's home address. I sent him a letter last week and next year zencat and I plan on visiting him when we get over to England for the premier of Bond XX!

I'll let you know if/when I get response from Gardner.

Speaking of visiting former Bond authors etc. I just realized I have John Pearson's address too. Wanna make a trip to meet him too, zencat?

Anyway, I'll stop bragging now.

If I remember rightly, he brought one out last year called DAY OF ABSOLUTION. Don't know much about it though. I think he had problems finding someone who would publish it for him.

Found it on Amazon, if you're interested.

Absolutely! You know, I always wanted to get in touch with Christopher Wood. Wouldn't he be a great BCW guest?

He's on my list of addresses I need to get. I have been looking for him for quite some time. I bet he'd be a great BCW guest. Very interesting.

On the subject of CW have you ever seen any of his books signed? I never had so I assume they are even more scarce than Fleming signed editions.

Gardner used to have an email address, but with the finacial difficulties he's had in previous years, with his wife's passing and all, I don't think he has a computer anymore. The address I used to have for him no longer works -- so that is another reason why I came to that conclusion.

I'm sorry to hear that John Gardner's having such a difficult time. Although I never really warmed to his Bond books, he wrote two volumes of a projected trilogy about Sherlock Holmes's arch enemy, Professor Moriarty, that I like very much. One was going to be filmed in the eighties with Donald Sutherland, but alas it never happened.

I'm sure that mccartney007 and zencat wouldn't mind you tagging along, Daniel.

There is the matter of available time and a plane ticket, of course.:)

I never have. I would sure like to get my copies signed.

CW was interviewed on the DVDs by John Cork and the IFF crew. Perhapes we could get his email address or contact info from them?

I still say he would be an amazing BCW guest -- except for the fact that Matt would probably have to fly him out from England.

Maybe John Cork can give me the address. I've asked for a few others and he said he'd see what he had but I have yet to hear from him.

I agree. I think instead of having several guests like they had in Las Vegas and New Orleans they could go with one. I think it would be worth it -- CW would be a VERY interesting guest.

Yes, your'e right. I think that he has or had cancer. There is an interview floating around the net in which he discusses his illnesses over the years and the death of his wife. Poor sod's been through a lot over the years. Get well soon, Mr Gardner.

It's a shame he's in such a bad position right now.  Hopefully they'll film one of his books and he'll get due credit (and royalties) for it.

Thats a good idea, PaulZ108, I'm sure he good do with the cash. Maybe, they'll film one of his books in the future, who knows? Although, it's unlikely. Maybe, it's a matter of pride.

How's John Gardner nowadays?
Not too long ago, I was at the 007forever forums and an article was posted about Gardner. I think it said something about him moving into some sort of clinic out in the country and having to sell a considerable portion of his personal library.

Is he still writing?
