According to reports and the December 2005 script draft, Pakistan will briefly feature in CASINO ROYALE. Slightly off topic here, but does anyone know where they filmed/will film the scenes in the cricket ground? I imagine it would be pointless to actually go to Lahore and film at a test match, and a cricket stadium would be difficult to recreate in a studio. Any ideas?Africa

Personally, I'd like to see Bond in South Africa and perhaps Beijing.

How about Norway? Having Bond and villains getting up to mischief halfway up the side of a fjord?

By the way, while we're talking about locations, has anyone else noticed that CR may well be the first major film to be set in (if not filmed in) Europe's newest state?

Bond going to Egypt again would be good. Try and get the Pyrimyds involved.
Also Bond has never been to Australia in the film. So perhaps adapt Zero Minus Ten where Bond is at Aires Rock.

The coastal pictures above are great-- would love to see one set on the coast of South America.

Reports from U. S. entertainment news programs have the Bond people filming CR in Prague, Czech Republic, formerly known as Czechoslovakia. Before the end of the Cold War, this country was a location in the storyline in TLD, but actually filmed in Austria. I would definitely love to see Bond filmed on location in all the former Eastern Bloc countries.

Let's see a little of the Fleming travelogue style!!!
One more thing: If they show any of Tiger Tanaka-san's "ninja" in action, how about actually getting a fight choreagrapher who actually knows something about historical ninjutsu ryu-ha. I want to see some Gyokko Ryu or Koto Ryu footwork!!!

Yeah, I think the Azores would be a fantastic place for Bond to have some sort of a vacation comissioned by Mi6, like in the beginning of TB

Personally, I'd also like to see Bond in the Middle East and parts of Asia - this would continue with the current vein of realism that seems to be running through the producers' thinking. These are much grittier places in terms of encapsulating the global threat that James Bond as an MI6 spy in the 21st century would be facing. And then locations such as Dubai could provide a more exotic accompaniment to this.

I just got back from Beirut this morning and was thinking exactly the same thing, Lebanon has some perfect locations for a Bond film. Forget Dubai though, a less exotic location you'd be pushed to find. Loads of other opportunities out here and of course politically there's plenty of scope for a Bond story, however I don't think the producers could go down that road, people out here are easily offended and I'd hate to see the kind of furore around a Bond film that we had for DVC or Brokeback Mountain.

Has Bond ever been in Los Angeles? I can't recall.
