I don't really know where to put this, but I'm writing kind of a short story called "007 vs. Goldeneye", where Bond has to fulfill a "termination contract" on Goldeneye, but I don't know his name other than "Goldeneye." Should I make up one, or does any one actually know what it is.

I'm not sure if he has a name. You might want to check the instruction booklet that came with the game. If you have to make one up, how about Jack Wright?

I don't remember if my copy had the manual (bought it used with some gift cards), but his name is never mentioned other than Goldeneye in the game.

Good find, Goldeneye. I keep forgetting about the Wikipedia.Just an update. I forgot I had the strategy guide by Prima and it doesn't mention a name either, so I guess I'll be inventing one. How bout Smitty Manfingerjester? Just teasing. Any suggestions. So far, I have Jack Wright.

Wow. Been a long time since I've been here.

Anyway, Wikipedia has everything you can imagine. I love it. I am almost 100% sure that GoldenEye has no name, and I'm quite sure that he is not referred to as Mr. Hunter in the booklet, seeing as how I've read it a thousand times.

You'd better read it again then (or get your eyes tested) as it is seen quite clearly on the letter from Goldfinger to Goldeneye that is printed on the introduction page of the manual.

Seriously, I'd be worried if I'd read something a thousand times and hadn't noticed something as obvious as this.

Just out of curiosity, Tanger; what system is your GRA for? I have it for PS2, and mine reads:

Auric Enterprises
Zurich London Louisville

Welcome to my organization. I'm sure you will find the benefits of working together superior to what you were accustomed to at MI6.

As we agreed, I have initiated plans to restore sight in the eye you've lost. The work was contracted by Francisco Scaramanga, whose standards are of the highest caliber. I assure you, the results will enhance your abilities.

This leaves only the final term of our agreement: our common enemy, Dr. Julius No. I will hold our
contract fulfilled the moment he has been eliminated. Come immediately to Auric Enterprises in
Switzerland. All travel and documents have been arranged.

You will be met by my driver at Zurich Airport. He goes by the name Oddjob.

Auric Goldfinger

Okay, is it possible that different systems have different instruction booklets? I know, I'm grasping. I'll scan what I have into the computer. We have a mystery on our hands, gents.

I have the UK PS2 version. The letter reads:

Auric Enterprises
Zurich London Louisville

Mr Hunter,

Welcome to my organization. I'm sure you will find the benefits of working together superior to what you were accustomed to at MI6.

A true mystery indeed. I'll scan mine too and we can compare.

I'm not sure if it's a region difference or an edition difference. I got my version of the game on the day it came out. The "Mr. Hunter" name could have been something they toyed with but then decided to remove.

Possible, but I'm thinkin it might be a region difference. I have the US edition. Scanning mine as soon as i can get the scanner set up again. UPDATE: I scanned it. Forgive the quality, but I can assure you, it is unaltered. The only thing is you will have to zoom in on it.

True. I live in the US, so mine doesn't say Mr. Hunter.

Tanger-I apologize for being such a jerk before realizing that your version may be different from mine.

PAL are quite different from NTSC in some ways. Not the actual game, but covers and booklets mainly. Although some PAL games remain unedited while some NTSC games are forced to have certain material removed. I cannot remember the name of that game but there were three levels cut from the NTSC version that were in the PAL version. Those three levels eally tied the story together too.

I think we have already determined, Gri, that he is not refered to as Mr. Hunter in the NTSC US manuals, only the PAL versions, unless of course you know something we don't.

What do you mean by manuel?

I have seen it in the game that his name is Mr Hunter. It's either at the end of the first level or during the title sequence.

Just to give everyone a heads up. I started the story over, and gave him a name. Tell me what ya think, Grice: Michael Hunter. I actually think I gave it a more dark feel. I get a little bit more done, I might post it here. I don't know
