A bunch of shows I love are:

The Larry Sanders Show - best thing ever on TV!
The Office
The Sopranos
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Moonlighting - "Do bears bare, do bees be?"

But you didn't watch Extras last night? :)

I like all of these, but fairly casually (ie haven't seen all episodes or anything).

Larry Sanders was indeed utter genius, though I haven't seen them all.
Seinfeld, of course.
The Office
The Day Today
Alan Partridge - both sorts
Brasseye
Murphy's Law, particularly the second series
Spooks, until Tom left
Second Sight with the chap who should have been Bond 6
Fame Academy - yes, I know, so shoot me, I found it fascinating and was hooked
Miami Vice - pretty good plots, once you get past the fashion
And ER, but only because of Goretex Fishingnet, who's gorgeous

Of course

The Day Today
BrassEye

No, missed Extras. That is good but time is an important quality to any art.
Let Extras ferment and then let's judge. I like it and having recently had some involvement in film, it certainly is accurate in many, many ways.

Fame Academy - well, of all the reality shows, I found this most interesting as you learn stuff behind the scenes of the music industry.

Use to like Miami Vice too - solid plots made by a (over-rated, IMO) film-maker. Time has not been kind to this a la all these shows: The Saint, The Persuaders, The Professionals. Only The Avengers, I think, has stayed fresh.

Never got Seinfeld, the show about nothing.

Missed out Friends - "I said Demi Moore"
Taxi
Cheers
Only Fools And Horses
Minder
The OC - very very funny
Ray Mears is an unsung hero

So here are my favourites:
current/recent ones:
Friends (My favourite no.1 of all times)
Alias
Desperate Housewives
Lost
the O.C. (Seth is a comic genius. and Ryan and Seth's dad are too hot to miss!)
The West Wing (definitely the tv show with the best dialogues in a long time)
Summerland
Ally McBeal
Will & Grace
Smallville
Kevin Hill
E.R. (Not for GORAN! I liked the Clooney part of it)

older ones:
The Dukes of Hazzard (a TRUE LEGEND. now those two jerks who play Bo and Luke in the just released movie should simply be eliminated from earth!!)
Moonlighting (GREAT GREAT GREAT)
Remington Steele (for PIERCE obviously)
M.A.S.H.
Miami Vice
Melrose Place
Beverly Hills, 90210
The one with the Bradford family
AND THE ABSOLUTE MILESTONE IN TV SHOW HISTORY: HAPPY DAYS!!!

Kind of on-topic, but I remember when 'Nick-At-Nite' actually used to show old shows. Since when have shows like Full House become that old?

Most of my favourite programmes were made over 20 years ago - not that much these days takes my interest. But 'your' Chicago Hope which I never knew existed until this year, as I'm watching the repeats of the repeats and it has gone down as one of the best examples of excellence I've ever seen. So here is my list and in no order and these are only the ones I can remember:

Chicago Hope
X Files
The Avengers
Crossroads (mk1)
Brookside (1st 5 years only - its now axed)
Little House On The Prairie
Columbo
One Foot In The Grave
Roseanne
Dallas (not in its final 3 years)
Cracker (Brit version)

Never miss an episode (those that aren't airing anymore, I'm slowly building a collection):

Mystery Science Theater 3000
Monk
Remington Steele
The Office (U.S.)
Family Guy
The Mole

Casually enjoy:

That 70's Show
Dharma and Greg
SPY
Spongebob Squarepants (really)
Myth Busters
American Chopper
Mary Tyler Moore Show
Surprise By Design
Scrubs
BBC's old Miss Marple series (not too fond of the new one)
South Park
Blind Date (guilty pleasure)
Ripley's Believe It or Not (OMG DEAN CAIN *drool*)
Last Comic Standing
Conan O'Brien

My tastes tend to run more towards offbeat comedies and some really well-done sitcoms...IMHO drama isn't something that works terribly well in television format. But, you know. That's just moi.
