Hugh Douglas is SPOT on by saying that it's utterly rediculous that this situation is happening now..LOL

I definitely agree with Hugh Douglas that this isn't something that we needed to know right now. The focus should be on the draft and free-agency, but just as a pure football move, I love the idea of it. I really think that Rex and Sparano are going to do something special with the running game this year, and a large part of why it's going to be a good idea is that Tebow brings them some "running back" depth that they weren't going to have otherwise. They don't have enough at the position to carry the team in a "ground and pound" mentality out of a regular offense, as Shonne Greene is not equipped to be the sole featured back. With all of the strange formations they're going to put Tebow in, and combining those with the regular, Sanchez-led offense, defenses are going to struggle early in the season to pick up on this. Luckily for the Jets, their difficult opponents are all early, so if this new type of offense can keep teams off guard early, they can get a leg up on the rest of the AFC and then cruise to an easy finish on the back end of the schedule and possibly make it back to the playoffs.

I would agree, but as I've witnessed year in and year out, the Jets have such a special "talent" for royally screwing up the draft that I almost have to watch to see if they can top the trade they made in the early 2000s, trading their first round pick to Oakland for Doug Jolley just so they could acquire the pick in the second round directly in front of Minnesota to take a kicker with their first pick of the draft.

EDIT: And the Jets' continue their inability to figure out how to draft correctly.

Forget the draft. Why is the black-hearted Roger Goodell pretending to be cool by bear hugging the draft picks? A professional handshake will do, Mr. Goodell.

Disappointed that my Broncos didn't pick yesterday, opting to trade down twice to get out of the first round...but the bright side is that we now have a nice little stockpile of draft picks today and tomorrow.. we need to go defense, O-lineman, probably another cornerback or safety, now that Brian Dawkins has retired and I wouldn't be opposed to picking up a QB to have him sit and learn from P. Manning for a couple of years..

2012 Draft Recap

I am going to go by the divisions, and give out my grades and a little follow up. Here we go! (No Wego I don't want a crappy Light Beer, I want real beer!) Teams are graded in nearly alphabetical order, not graded order

NFC North

Bears-C Plus; Best Pick-Alshon Jeffery; Worst Pick-Brandon Hardin
Lions-B; Best Pick-Riley Reiff; Worst Pick-Ronnell Lewis
Packers-C Minus; Best Pick-Jerel Worthy; Worst Pick-No WR or RB drafted
Vikings-B; Best Pick-Matt Kalil; Worst Pick-Jarius Wright

Bears and Packers missed some big needs, while the Vikings & Lions got their needs filled. Brandon Hardin missed all of last yr , Ronnell Lewis IMO was a reach and the Vikings drafted another Percy Harvin in Jarius Wright but also got his big teammate Greg Childs to make up for it.

NFC South

Falcons-C Plus; Best Pick-Lamar Holmes; Worst Pick-Bradie Ewing
Panthers-B Minus; Best Pick-Josh Norman; Worst Pick-No TE drafted
Saints-D; Too few picks, did not draft a CB or LB which were needs
Bucs-B; Best Pick-Doug Martin; Worst Pick-Drake Dunsmore

I liked the Bucs draft the best, didn't see need for a TE over an O-lineman though. Falcons were hit and miss, as was the Panthers. The Saints had too few picks, and IMO may have only 1 or 2 real producers this year.

NFC West

Cardinals-B Plus; Best Pick-Michael Floyd; Worst Pick-No LB drafted
49ers-B; Best Pick-LaMichael James; Worst Pick-AJ Jenkins (Reach)
Seahawks-B Plus; Best Pick-Russell Wilson; Worst Pick-Bruce Irvin
Rams-A; Best Pick-Michael Brockers, A grade means no bad picks

LOVED the Rams draft, 49ers reached on 1st pick, as did the Seahawks. Cards missed on some LB's that could help out the front 7

NFC East

Cowboys-A; Best Pick-Morris Claiborne
Eagles-A Plus despite not taking a TE or S
Giants-A Minus; Best Pick-David Wilson
Redskins-C; Best Pick-Robert Griffin III; Worst Pick-Kirk Cousins

Redskins needed another QB, but could have waited til Rod 7 to do it IMO. Best draft in the NFC, as the Boys, Giants & Eagles will contend.

NFC North

Ravens-A; Best Pick-Courtney Upshaw
Bengals-A Plus Plus
Browns-A; Best Pick-Trent Richardson; Brandon Weeden
Steelers-B Plus-Best Pick-Sean Spence; Worst Pick-Mike Adams

Loved what the Ravens & Browns brought in. Steelers did well, but I have to ? why pick Mike Adams at all. I don't mind if you smoke dope-but don't lie about it and smoke it before the damn combine. The Bengals love the new rookie deals as they are quickly rebuilding this team into a perennial playoff contender.

AFC South

Texans-B; Best Pick-DeVier Posey; Worst Pick-Brandon Brooks (Was not invitedx to combine)
Colts-B Minus; Best Pick-Andrew Luck; Worst Pick-taking TE's on consecutive picks
Jaguars-F; Best Pick-Justin Blackmon; Worst Pick-Bryan Anger (A punter in the 3rd round? WTF are you thinking? That's always an F in my book)
Titans-A minus; Best Pick-Zach Brown

Colts would have been an A if not for the 2 TE's back to back. Titans did the best IMO, followed by the Texans. I already handled the Jags

AFC West

Broncos-C Plus; Best Pick-Brock Osweiler; Worst Pick-Derek Wolfe (Reached)
Chiefs-C Minus; Best Pick-Jeff Allen; Worst Pick-Dontari Poe (Reached)
Raiders-B Plus; Best Pick-Juron Criner; too few picks
Chargers-A

Chargers would have gotten an A Plus if they took a WR. Denver & KC reached on a couple of players as I noted, Denver really needed a WR and there were some damn good ones out there. Oakland maximized their picks and built some depth.

AFC East

Bills-B Plus; West Pick-Stephon Gilmore; Worst Pick-didn't draft a QB
Dolphins-A; Best Pick-Lamar Miller
Patriots-B Minus; Best Pick-Jake Bequette; Worst Pick-Chandler Jones (Reached)
Jets-A

I think Chandler Jones is a good player, but I think the Pats reached on him, he would have been in Rd 2. The Bills had QB issues and didn't take one-bad move but a good draft nonetheless. Miami shored up taking some players from the U, and the Jets addressed some needs, and despite not takiing a Corner, did very well.

Well, I'm glad that weekend's over. The 2012 Draft did more to set the Jets back than any single bone-headed decision the franchise has made in recent years.

I think Chris Burke over on SI.com had the best analysis of the Jets disaster of a draft:

New York Jets: DE Quinton Coples is a colossal roll of the dice at 16 overall, and the Jets decided to address their issues at offensive tackle by completely ignoring that position. WR Stephen Hill (43) will help that underwhelming unit, as might sleeper Jordan White (244). But there was more bad than good here. Grade: D-plus

Could not agree more with those sentiments, although I believe that Mr. Burke is a bit too generous with the grade he gives their draft. I'd just go ahead and give it an F.

BREAKING NEWS: Former NFL LB Junior Seau found dead of an apparent suicide...This is absolutely tragic news.. He was a truly remarkable player during his time with the Chargers, Dolphins and Patriots...even though he was often an opponent of my Broncos, I always had a deep respect and admiration for him.. R.I.P. Junior..

I am truely saddened by the news of Junior Seau's death. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. One can only speculate that life was not worth living unless he was on the field. Always a feared opponent of the Broncos, R.I.P Junior.

I will miss Junior Seau, it is sad that he took his own life.

However I do not feel it was due to concussions-which he never missed a game due to having one. Most players even if they have suffered one are so competitive that they will either: 1) lie about feeling the symptoms or 2) lie about feeling better even after seeing a nuerologist. You can guess how I feel about the concussion lawsuit brought on by former players-its [censored]. Nobody 'forced' them to play & I bet doctors told them not to play after getting hurt & they ignored them anyway. We are only now getting to know brain functions better-I had a very severe concussion in 1994 & took the basic tests at the time. I was cleared after 60 days to return. Based on what is known now I probably would have had to miss the whole season-thats only b/c they have better brain understanding & more nuerologicl research has been done. Since 1994 I had that severe concussion & a couple more my final yr in football & once after I fell off a ladder while in college.

Now do I have memory loss? Sure some short term stuff. I forget names, passwords, numbers things like that. Do I have anger issues? Sure I get mad but I find ways to control it, I just get alone time, cool off & I am good. Have I got other personality issues? Those that have known me a while haven't seen them & when I ask them directly they tell me I haven't really changed. Do I get depressed? Yes-and while it can be rough it is more related to having TMJ than post concussion syndrome. I know the risks involved with football-but there is better gear now for players to use for protection-BUT they have to use it.

Just my 2 cents-if anyone has any ?'s for me I will happily answer them

http://sports.yahoo....11510--nfl.html Clearly the New York Jets have ZERO confidence that Tebow is gonna be a solid QB...they are now going to ask him to return and cover kick-offs.. Things would have been better for Tim had Denver kept him to sit and learn behind Peyton Manning..

ESPN is blowing these 'fights' at Jets practices. Scuffles like this happen all the time, putting cameras at practices is a bad idea. Hell, I got into & started fights in practices when I played-you just get frustrated only hitting the same people over & over again you need something different. Once the season (preseason for NFL) starts the fights end-and I never wanted to hurt a teammate-I remember afterwards we joked about it, and it really helped us bond (James Bond) as friends & teammates. It would help if ESPN sent in reporters who ACTUALLY PLAYED football-they would just blow it off as nothing.

Watching the Jets/Giants game tonight. The Jets offense might make a run at being the worst offensive unit in NFL history this year. If this bunch of losers wins a single game this year, I'll be shocked.

I think I'm just going to go ahead and say that I'm done with them. They finally broke me. I've just finally reached the point where I have no patience left to root for this team anymore, and I've got too many other pressing personal issues to deal with to warrant punishing myself by continuing to support this "team".

Never in the history of sport has a team that is so untalented done so much yapping about how great they are. Hopefully they'll shut up during the season when Tebow leads them to 0-16.

Wow..sorry guys to hear of how awful the Jets looked tonight..Meanwhile, Peyton Manning looked pretty good for the Broncos, minus the 2 INT's..but once he gets the kinks worked out with our first teamers, he'll be solid. What DOES concern me greatly is the play of QB Brock Osweiller and our 2nd unit offense and defense...They were PUTRID!! Surely Caleb Haine cannot be our best option for backup to Manning??!! Ok, it was only the second preseason game but still we have got to be WAY better than to lose 30-10 at home to a team like Seattle..

tdalton-before you give up on the Jets consider this: 2008 Detroit Lions go 4-0 in the preseason, go 0-16 in the regular season. In 1985 the Chicago Bears go 1-3 in the preseason and finish 17-1 as Super Bowl Champs. A bad preseason isnt the end, and it doesnt mean a bad regular season. I think the Jets will be alright.

There is always the possibility that the colander they call an offensive line could turn things around, but quite honestly, I'm tired of the bravado. It's undeserved, unearned, and just off-putting at this point.

The problem, though, is the O-line, which is unquestionably the worst in the league. Yes, there have been good teams that have gone 0-4 in the pre-season, but I would venture to guess that none of them have looked as bad as the 2012 New York Jest (mis-spelling intentional). I've rooted for bad Jets teams before (the 1-15 year still fresh in my mind), but this team is impossible to root for, with the collective group of players (save for perhaps Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez) that put forth a public persona that is so unlikable that even the fans of the team are turned off by it.

2012 NFL Review

I won't get into too much detail since I just finished reviewing all major college football teams.

AFC North

1. Pittsburgh Steelers
2. Baltimore Ravens
3. Cincinnati Bengals
4. Cleveland Browns

I like the Steelers to edge the Ravens in this division. Cincy IMO steps back as teams find a way to slow down Dalton and Green. Browns are rebuilding, and don't quite have the ability to compete.

AFC South

1. Houston Texans
2. Tennessee Titans
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Indianapolis Colts

Houston proved they can win without Schaub, but while the defense is missing some good players they will still be tops. Titans and Jags have young QB's who will improve in time and the Colts are rebuilding, but have a lot of potential for the future.

AFC East

1. New England Patriots
2. Buffalo Bills
3. New York Jets
4. Miami Dolphins

Nobody is better than the Patriots, and they win again. I think the Bills surprise many people this season, the Jets will step back, and the Dolphins will struggle to win 4 games this season.

AFC West

1. Oakland Raiders
2. San Diego Chargers
3. Kansas City Chiefs
4. Denver Broncos

Another surprise but I think the Raiders defense gives them and edge. The Chargers offense will be good, but their defense shaky. The Chiefs will struggle and find a way to win 9, but the Broncos will struggle b/c I don't think Peyton can accurately make the deep throws like he did a few years ago. They have to prove me wrong.

NFC North

1. Green Bay Packers
2. Chicago Bears
3. Detroit Lions
4. Minnesota Vikings

I still like the Packers here, but the Bears will give them all they can handle. Detroit could win 10 games and not make the playoffs. The Vikings w/o Adrian Peterson will struggle, even if he comes back week 1.

NFC South

1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Carolina Panthers
3. Tampa Bay Buccanneers
4. New Orleans Saints

Falcons should fly high this season, O-Line is a concern however. Panthers have only been a better team, but Newton needs to stay in pocket more often. Bucs should be better defensively, but I have doubts on Freeman being an elite QB. The Saints have the most talent, but since NO is hosting the Super Bowl, they will not even make the post season (No team hosting SB has ever played in the game-wont change this season).

NFC East

1. New York Giants
2. Philadelphia Eagles
3. Washington Redskins
4. Dallas Cowboys

Giants should repeat and be better than the 9 regular season wins they had a yr ago. Eagles need a healthy Mike Vick, but he will miss a key game or 2. Redskins will be surprisingly better, and the Cowboys suck.

NFC West

1. San Francisco 49ers
2. St. Louis Rams
3. Seattle Seahawks
4. Arizona Cardinals

49ers still the best team, but now that they have a 1st place schedule can they really compete? Rams should be much improved under new HC Jeff Fischer. Seahawks might be a little better, but it looks like Russell Wilson will be their QB. The Cardinals don't have a QB.

2nd San Diego Chargers
3rd Oakland Raiders
4th Kansas City Chiefs

AFC East

1st New England Patriots
2nd Buffalo Bills
3rd Miami Dolphins

AFC South

1st Houston Texans
2nd Tennessee Titans

AFC North

1st Baltimore Ravens
2nd Cincinnati Bengals
3rd Pittsburgh Steelers

3. CINCINATTI BENGALS
