I'm wondering what TWWTRT is? I can guess what TMWTRT is. :)

This is tooooo cool!

Congrats to Raymond. A cool guy deserves a cool museum.

I don't know whatever became of the "Bond in Japan" trip that was scheduled for last year, but this may require a visit to the Orient.

*checks mileage points and a certain phone number in Tokyo*

Hmmmm.

Again, Very, very cool news. :)

This is cool news. Congrats to Mr. Benson. The question now is - will this be enough to persuade EON to film the book?

A veteran 007 in exotic Japanese locations...terrific action...a freakish henchmen rooted in Japanese mythology...a bullet train...two dynamite Bond Girls...a contemporary plot involving bio-terrorism delivered in a completely original and terrifying way...

Nah.

Let's have a junior James go play cards in Prague. No, really, it will be great because he will fall in LOVE. :)

Well its not entirely going to be about the book. Though it does not mention how big the museum will be. I have been to some "museums" where it is just a room.

This is Totally Rad!

Watching the movie "Lost in Translation" sparked the 'I mist visit Japan' bug in me. Now there's another reason to go... this museum! :)

Yeah, but just how it seems to be one of the main centers of it.

I'm starting to think of all the continuation novels TMWTRT would make the best film. If I was given a choice by Eon of which novel to adapt into a screenpaly (hey, I can dream, can't I?) TMWTRT might be my top choice (followed maybe by Gardner's For Special Services).

Even if CR is, indeed, "Bond Begins", why not make TMWTRT his second mission.

I'd like to get some more info before I would head over there. How big is the museum? I'd be pretty miffed to pay all that money only to arrive and find that the museum was in a small room in the local tourism office.

This is very cool news, but I do agree with Darren - I've seen too many "museums" that turn out to be a corner of some room.

Hopefully we'll get some pix of it at some point and get a better idea of what it is.

Any fan of the book really should check out this account of Bensons research trip to Japan for the novel. It's very, very long but really interesting:

For in depth articles on 007 I have always liked HMSS.

I read this article sometime ago (following a link on Kimberly Last's site). It's fascinating to follow the day-by-day trips that Benson took and (for fans of YOLT) to read of the meetings he had with Mie Hama and Akiko.

Thanks for the report Raymond. I heard from one of the CBn staff that Raymond Benson fans were in for a treat today and I was wondering what we could expect.

Yes, after chatting with Raymond over emails and taking into account his comments on the plot of HTTK I now count myself as a CBn Raymond Benson supporter.

Well, I'm kind of a Benson supporter already, given that I absolutely love "Zero Minus Ten" (the best continuation novel I've ever read, apart from "Colonel Sun" - actually, it may be even better than "Colonel Sun" [wow, did I really just type that?]), and am also very fond of "The Man With the Red Tattoo". In addition, I quite like "Never Dream of Dying", as well as the novelisations of TOMORROW NEVER DIES and DIE ANOTHER DAY.

Making me into a Gardner supporter, though - now that would take a lot of work.

Really nice to see outside reporting by someone that is or has been associated officially with Bond. Would really like to see more of this. Unfortunately for myself I've yet to read The Man With The Red Tattoo, although of Benson's I have read Tomorrow Never Dies and apart from that, Splinter Cell (in addition to the Bedside Companion).

Japan. :)

I'd love to see Bond return to Japan and I'd love to see Eon make The Man With The Red Tattoo. It really is one the best continuation novels for adaptation, IMO.
