Darren called Revenge of the Sith "the best film of the decade" and so I got to thinking about it and so I decided to make a thread...here's my top ten at the half way juncture despite not having seen the most anticipated film of the year(ROTS). In no particular order, subject to change:

LOTR
Kill Bill
Spiderman 2
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Bourne Supremacy
House of Flying Daggers
Black Hawk Down
Unbreakable
Y tu Mama tambien
City Of God

I hope 'Revenge' cracks my top ten... :)

Your lists please.

  • The Bourne Supremacy
  • Spider-man 2
  • Signs
  • Cellular
  • Kill Bill (Vol. 1, Vol. 2)
  • LOTR: The Two Towers
  • Runaway Jury
  • Unbreakable
  • Die Another Day :) Hey, it is Bond.

I can barely think of one film in the last decade that is in my list of fav films. I could mention Secret Window, or Unbreakable. I certainly would never mention Bourne Identity. Although it is very difficult to try and remember films in the last 10 years. Maybe that's just me. In any case for a good few years now I visit the cinema less and less as they all seem to be going for kids more than ever.

Oh remembered - Ripley's Game & The Talented Mr Ripley.

Well, I loved the film and I own the SE DVD. I didn't see it in theaters because everyone told me how slow and boring it was. I wish I didn't listen to people with AADD who need car chases, kung fu and wall to wall CGI every 5 minutes to keep their interst becuase it's a damn good film. :)

I agree with Tarl. I love the film and own the SE DVD as well. Goes to show that well thoughtout filmmaking can turn into a terrific drama for a movie.

Apart from the fact that Shyamalan is the most overrated hack in Hollywood, the acting was comical at best and you'll find it hard to find worse casting. A total waste of my money.

It would have been better if it was't made at all. Shyamalan has no talent for movie making and people syaing all his movies are the work of a genius only makes him create more crap with a stupid predictable ending that claims to be a "huge twist".

So you don't like Shymalan. Or Sean Connery. Or "Goldfinger".

But you love Casino Royale.

I agree with you Fraternal.

I never saw what was so interesting about THE SIXTH SENSE since you knew within the first couple of minutes of the movie that the Willis' character was dead.

"I see dead people!" ...well of course you do kid you are talking to Willis and he's been dead for the whole movie.

I still don't get what the big surprise was supposed to be in that movie. Everyone talked about it, but it never came.

I finally saw 'Revenge of the Sith' today. It's creepy! :) But good. Not a top ten film of the decade but certainly the best SW prequel(not too dificult really is it?) but visually and effects, action wise it's definitely the most spectacular film of the decade. It's entertaining as hell.I'll probably buy the DVD. :)
