Get Mozilla. It does funny things in the posting windows (when adding in formatting tags and smilies, but that's basically all that causes a few problems.
iCab no good for reading CBn (glad I can do this post without getting lost).

Everything looks like a complete mess (and it's slow).

It's 2.98. Highest version that runs on OS 9.

[mra]Check again. There is a version of the 3.0 Beta that runs on OS 8.5

Has no one heard about the newest Intel Mac laptop...the Macbook?
Indeed, it's quite a tempting beast; but as long as most of my software is still only PPC native, I'll stick with my PBG4 12".
What might be a compelling reason to upgrade is of the new MacBooks can boot off of the 5th generation iPods. As far as I have found, there's no easy way to do so, so I'm holding onto my 4th generation iPod and PowerBook.

What apps do you use that aren't universal yet?

I just upgraded my desktop to a new Intel Mac Mini. I love it!

The MacBooks are beauties. The new glossy screens are amazing.
Yeah, they do look nice - and I love the new keyboard layout. Need to give one a try at the London Apple Store.

How big is the speed difference, John, from your old G4 tower?

Regardless of the iPod...
...ooh, James Bond.
Utterly outrageous gun, though.

2) Christ, he could mow down a herd of elephants with that thing. He probably shouldn't hold it so nonchalantly.

Fingerprint scanner? For what? To protect his playlists?
Seriously, James Bond? With an iPod? I think I might die of the awesome.

Well, Alex Rider got there first I think (the 'IexPlod' I think they called it!); but is this definitely Bond's? I suppose it probably is considering the gun and lack of earphones, but you never know..
[mra]Yep, that

That's interesting. I didn't know you could boot off of the 5th generation iPods. Very interesting, indeed.

Actually that's the thing. As far as I have been able to find out, you can't. So far as I have found, the 4th generation were the last ones that were bootable, since they suport firewire; while I'm under the impression that 5th genration iPods and iPod nanos are USB 2.0 only.
I do recall a rumor, which I have yet to get any definitive verification on, that supposedly the Intel-based macs would be able to boot off of USB; but this might be a blatant case of vaporware.
So, what I was trying to get across is that IF the MacBook can boot off of a USB drive, and IF the 5th generation iPod is able to be used as a boootable drive for the MacBook, THEN, that would make a compelling reason for me to upgrade.
As it is, only about a month ago, before the MacBook was released, my original hard drive in my PowerBook failed and I replaced it with a 100GB 7200 RPM Seagate drive, so I'd need a compelling reason to upgrade now as I'd otherwise like to amortize the cost of the new hard drive.
I apologize for the lack of clarity.
As far as which applications I'm using which aren't, so far as I know, universal yet. I heavily depend on NeoOffice and GIMP.

Only rumors based on impending availability of newer Intel mobile processors; however, that being said, I'd expect that Apple will want to get out of the gate with new processors as they don't want to be passed by the purveyors of Windows computers (on a hardware basis).I'm working on a PowerBook G4 for three years (love it!) and I will definitely buy a new MacBook Pro soon. I think there's new versions coming out in January, does anyone know more about that?
Later: it appears that I spoke too soon:
