In fact most people I know who have bought any kind of apple product have had problems and had to send it back; usually with a lot of problems actually getting any action on getting it fixed.

View Post

We sure don't know the same people. I've used nothing but Macs since 1988 and I've never had any serious problems. In fact, I kind of want my now 5-year-old G4 desktop to fail me so I have an excuse to buy a G5. But it just keeps running and running.

Actually, the only defect I ever experienced was I got one of the first 15 inch PowerBooks and it had a faint white blotch on the screen. I dropped it off at the Apple store and in less than 24 hours they replaced the screen free and even offered to hand deliver it to my apt so I didn't have to drive back to the store. Those Apple Stores are incredible when it comes to customer service. I went there once to buy memory and they gave me an address of a non-Apple Store where I could buy it cheaper.

Well I take back all i've ever said about Apple. The fast-forward and rewind buttons on the new iPod are already broken, and I've had it less than a week. Boo Apple.

If you're a student/teacher, Apple.com do the best educational prices. Being a student I get great discounts.

If not, for new Mac's, Apple.com seem to be the cheapest I've ever seen as they're actually producing the things.

Not sure where else besides ebay, you'd look.

And also, I bought a brand spankin new black 60 gig 5G iPod last Monday. It scratches like a bitch though. You put it in your pocket...scratches. And for right now, proper 60 gig cases are hard to find. But the video on this thing works marvelously. Its well worth it with the student discount especially.

I got the new fifth generation iPod (30 GB) for Christmas. It's awesome! I downloaded the pilot episode of the hit NBC show, The Office, to it. It's hilarious!

Righty... you should rent on DVD the original "The Office" -- it was made in the UK and is far superior. IMO.

Yep, I to have been turned to the dark side... um, I mean the MAC side. Kinda. I got (cause I asked for) a Black iPod 4G nano. Yay! I'm thinking about getting their smallest iBook since I'm dieing for a lap-top... but they only come in white. I'm hoping perhaps next year they'll make them in black or have their new Intel Chip laptops in Black. (my desktop is a black DELL, and black electronics just look good).

I think it's January 10th that they'll be releasing quite a few new Mac's with the Intel chips inside them. The iBooks are rumoured to sport a brand new design.

Found this site a while ago though...

My Aunt and Uncle got one of these last month and it is really really cool.

I would wait though for the Intel processors as they are so close to being available.

Intel iMac's.

No Intel iBook's yet.

PowerBook's have been replaced with MacBook Pro's featuring Intel processors.

Yes. The Podcasting studio in Garageband looks sweet.

Watched the full keynote address on Apple.com. Lots of cool stuff beyond the new Intel Macs. New webpage maker in iLife, plug in device that turns your iPod into a radio receiver, cool new features in iPhoto, etc.

I'm almost positive now that I'm going to upgrade one of the new iMacs.

You know in the keynote, when the girl from Microsoft went and made that joke about her not having the bunny suit, you could hear this groan in the audience...which I thought was funny.

Man...I want this new Intel iMac. In the 6 months I've had this iMac, they've made 2 major revisions...which makes me upset that I didnt wait.

Ever heard of Apple's SOUNDTRACK PRO !? Well I did, I ve got SoundtrackPro as present to my birthday last week ago,... and it's ACE!!!

I ve bought an Mac G5 (1,8 GB Dual) in summer 2004! The best what could ever happend to me!!! :D

For me as an editor SOUNDTRACK PRO an effective tool, you can easily add sound effects and compose and mix your own soundtrack using about 10.000 loops from its libary!!!

I have made a test... as you might know I am using Final Cut Pro (5) and I wanted to see how these 2 softwares match together....

the result of the test can be seen here:
GE-trailer clip
GE-fight clip

I ve took some pictures from GE and added some sound effects...

Enjoy!!!

I'm guessing you've used it before, though? So that doesn't make it as bad?
