Sorry, but I think Evans portrait picture of Young Bond is far superior. :)

I do too actually.

I wish Walker would have given him some sort of interesting background -- like standing in front of his first "Aston Martin" or the Bentley the way he did with his images of Uncle Max and Aunt Chairman. Even his pic of Wilder had her horse.

Do people think it was a good idea to EVER show the image of Young Bond, or should IFP leave it to the imagination? I know one of the stipulations from IFP on the cover art for the new Flemings was to never show Bond. He is always "the man in silhouette." Should Young Bond have remained "the boy in silhouette"?

Of course, they'll have to show him once these new graphic novels hit...but maybe tease him until then?

Very nice to hear about graphic novels. They're really going all out for this Young Bond series so far. :)

Doesn't he look like a combination of Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan?? :)

Cheers!

I think he would ride a nice, classic cherry red Schwinn bicycle myself...if they even existed in the UK in the 30's when the GN takes place.

He does look good and I'm surprised that GN haven't been used to a greater extent in telling Bond tales...

This guy looks just like Pierce Brosnan. I really enjoy the "raggity" look. :) It adds a sense of maturity to the 13 year old.

Haha my imagination is pretty bad then. Everytime I read a Bond book I picture either Dalton, Connery, or Lazenby. Never Brosnan or Moore for some reason.

..yet to read SilverFin, mind you.

How is that meant to be from the 1930s? Even granted that he's out of his school uniform, he'd never have that long hair, and he'd have been wearing a tie. Doesn't look at all like it's from the right period to me. Maybe late 40s at a pinch. Did military chic really exist before the 1960s?

Pedantic as ever,

This is fantastic news. I look forward to checking out the graphic novels when they hit. I'm glad that IFP are expanding the Bond horizons.

By the way spynovelfan...very little of the book SILVERFIN takes place in Eton (less than 1/3 of it). I can easily imagine this is how Young Bond looks when he is hiking up the mountain to get to Hellebore's castle.

Thanks John. I saw that - pretty cool.

I'm just a little psyched by the news that Bond will finally get the graphic novel treatment. The closest we have come so far is the strips reissued recently by Titan and for a fan who loves Bond art this was an exciting piece of news for me.

Liking the pictures, though his legs seem to be insanely long. Other than that, I quite like it.

The pictures of the other characters on the YB website are hit and miss with me, though. George, Wilder, and Red, all look as I pictured them. And even Aunt Charmian and Uncle Max are almost spot on to what I had invisioned them looking like.

Randolph, Pritpal, Mr. Merriot and Algar are a bit off.

I agree with John and spynovelfan, and my vote ( probably though unimportant ) would still lye with Evan's portrait pic.

Even if IFP wanted to use his art, they'd be too snobbish to do so. It's a real damn shame, and they're own art just goes to prove that they have no idea on how the young Bond should look.

Totally agree with you Bondian. I was amazed when I saw that young Bond pic in CBn's Charlie Higson interview.

According to Higgy, the first Young Bond graphic novel will be an adaptation of SilverFin.

Nice to see we're getting some graphic novel news, but is this going to be showing itself in the US? If not, import it is!

I suppose it doesn't matter, as it's not a big deal to import it from Amazon. I'd still rather be able to drive down to my local bookstore and pick it up, though.

I wonder if reading the graphic novel before the book it's being adapted for would ruin the experience found in the book. It's always more difficult to imagine what these character's look like after you've seen what others say they look like. I much prefer my ideas as opposed to someone elses.

Personally I am less than excited about CASINO ROYALE. I'm sure I'll see it at the theater, but I am not chomping at the bit for it.
