A late night thought after a glass of wine or two and a few considerations...

As much as I love the remastered and expanded CDs of a few years ago, I must say that the DIAMONDS ARE FORVER CD lacks a certain reverbed-drenched richness that the original release had.

Has anyone else noticed this?

The remastered edtions, DAF in particular, do not refelct that haunting reverb that was present on the original releases, LP or otherwise. They sound a bit dryer.

I am sure technological aproximations are the reasons here but I am curious to hear the thoughts of other CBN taskmasters.

This by the way is, at long last, my 100th post! I so do love CBN!

I am now a Sub-Lieutenant.

I'm told one should always listen to vinyl - on suitably decent equipment, of course.

Vinyl? You mean while sitting on certain kinds of furniture? :)

I hope that all the Bond soundtracks are released ecentually on DVD so that they (well most of them at least) can be appreciated more with 5.1 sound quality.

The DAF remaster was definately very dry... way dryer than the score as heard in the film which isnt necessarily a bad thing, I like the release. Though I'm sure if you miss the reverb that much there are ways to add it back in fairly easily.

Hm...well I remember that the producer of the remasters, Lukas Kendall, digitally took out the reverb of DAF to get the pure sound of the score.
