Saw this on my TV guide.

Interesting, considering that it hasn't even been 2 years since it was released in the cinema, and only one and a half years since being released on DVD.

Oh well.

Place your bets.

The Asian TV premier is a New Year's Day Special.

For some reason all of the recent Bonds have made it to ITV a year early (the general rule of thumb is a three year wait). No idea why.

Echoed in the bizarrely quick turnaround of T3, which is on five in November.

T3 on five in November?

That's only a year after it came out on DVD!

Bloody hell.

I suppose they're running out of films to repeat.

Soon they'll have the 21st Bond Film before cinemas!

I've seen the trailor for "Try Another Day" and was staggered at the different dramatic changes in the colour from the kiddie CGI to other scenes. It almost looks like different films sliced together.

I will be washing my undies when this movie's on. :)

I've just seen ITV's ad for tonight's premiere, and was amused to hear the words:

"Starring Halle Berry ... and Pierce Brosnan as James Bond."

Fair enough. :)

The other way being "Starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond and Halle Berry."

They might have got it more grammatically correct the way they did it.

Was any of it cut - those that saw it?

Not sure anyone could have bothered, advertising, news and no doubt any number of other interruptions.

This for the American members - does anyone find it annoying when NBC advertise what is the next programme to be shown, as graphic slidey things, during the time when the actual programme you're watching is being shown. Not even during advertising breaks, I find it very disrespectful to the programme maker and not a little disrespectful of the viewers. It appears to be always about what is coming up as opposed to what is on now.

I hope to God the UK doesn't go that far. (I was in Dominicon Republic recently watching American TV)(trying to watch)

Good point there.

As for the advertising of the next programme during the current one, it's also done (for awhile now) in Australia as well, and since being in Indonesia to experience both cable and satellite TV I find the same practice employed.

But I've noticed when I last returned to Australia recently that during the end credits of a programme the screen is split in two with one half displaying the credits while the other half advertises programming - but not necessarily the next one.
:)

Sorry to continue this OT discussion, but T3 has being showing here on satellite TV for the last month or so. Based in Taiwan AXN proclaims itself as THE action station in Asia. What with Alias, and the CSIs - amongst other shows - it lives up to it. And NO subtitling either.

That happens in the UK as well. I can sort of accept that as the majority of the world will leave during then anyway. But everyone will stay to the end of the meat of the programme.

If the graphics from the station start interfering within the body of the programme, you can be sure I will be a vociferous objector.

Watched it. Had nothing better to do.
Nothing was cut but the CGI looked even worse than it did at the cinema and on the DVD.

Same here, but we're talking about a terrestial station- the rules are different for satellite for some reason. Only the Bonds and films financed by the TV stations screening them make it to terrestial first.

On late though, wasn't it? How can kids watch it if it finishes at midnight?

And in very tight pan and scan, which is unusual nowadays. However, I watch Daylights the other day and DAD is comparatively very stupid and rubbish. It really is quite bad, isn't it?

Yep, it's a shockingly unfair comparison, but that's the comparison. Poor old DUD.

THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS is a superb Bond film, but DIE ANOTHER DAY is even better. DAD owns TLD.

Which must be why they had problems recently putting TLD out on DVD. Because DAD owns TLD! No? You've been a lousy audience. Critics and material I don't need....

DAD will need to own TLD, to see what a proper Bond film is.

TLD has more sense than to bother owning DUD. Spent the money on something better. Like having rats chew its eyes out.

Umm...this is a leedle abstract, no?

As for graphics showing what is up next: this is also done over here in Germany for a while now and I find it really disturbing. And for the end credits: they don't show them over here. They split the screen in proportion 3/4 to 1/4. In the 3/4 part they show a trailer for another movie or programme, whereas in the 1/4 part they show the main cast of the movie for a second or so.

Here in the UK they usually just show the cast in the credits and then finish. They did the same here, just the cast then the James Bond Will Return bit.
