There is nothing wrong with good action scenes in a Bond movie. But go back to action such as the Tank Chase in GE or the Stealth Ship ending of TND. Use CGI to enhance a sequence such as th pipeline in TWINE, but don't make an action sequence based on CGI. I'm disapointed about the delay, but am happy to see a new directon for Bond.

I know it seems like a long time, but I think this delay could ultimately help the series. They will have plenty of time by then to get everything set the way they want it, and we should end up with a great Bond picture.

Eon taking Bond 21 back to the roots , a la "From Russia With Love" style , is without a doubt terrific news. A solid spy thriller with good and strong characters is what the series and the fans need!

This is disappointing news for me, sure I can wait, I have a normal life like anyone else here, a cool work place, nice girl friend, fun friends, I live close to the beach. But you see, I mostly use the internet for entertainment and connect just for a few hours, I like to read about rock music, movies, video games, toys, Star Wars, but mainly exciting news from the 007 front;
every time I connect, I come to CBn and see what happened in the news, and then read all your reactions in the forums, I predict will have some dry months of that!! I participate in a Spanish speaking yahoo group about Bond, and we were gearing up for the rollercoaster-circus ride of pre and production that were to come up these following months and next year, we did the same for DAD. I also was hoping for the cool discussion here in CBn when all the craziness of Bond 21 would begin... But now the wait will cumbersome, judging from the way EON inform and keep happy their 007 fans, there won't be any news, any info, not any teasing from their part in months, months, even a whole year. At least the folks of Lucasfilms have been wetting our appetites for EIII a few years back, with all their website info, but EON won't care and there will be less 007 info than ever before, even the DAD DVD release had more news than we will be getting for Bond 21 in a while, we are always abandoned by EON...

Is it me, or has time increased in speed?.

For me, I can wait two years until Bond 21. OK, maybe it's me, but I do feel sorry for the fans who would like a Nov 2005 release.

Maybe I've learnt to be more patient in my mid life years, or am I an old boring ?.

Will it be a case of "Hey! Two fewer huge explosions than in DIE ANOTHER DAY, and no face-swapping or invisible car! Have we gone back to Fleming and Terence Young or what?"?

I really cannpt see a tense action thriller with minimum CGI, but EON have been known to change their 'spots', so let's hope we get a masterpiece.

FRWL is packed with gadgets. Good ones. And from Connery's fight with Shaw in the railway compartment until the end of the film it's just about action all the way. The difference is that the stunts and toys are credible within the setting of a well plotted Espionage thriller. It takes some stretch of the imagination to suggest that the guys who wrote TWINE and DAD have now turned in a script that's the equivalent of a FRWL 2.

Yes, "good gadgets" is the keyword. Invisible cars and lame CGI has to change. I think Bond needs a new attache case

I am not sure that a James Bond fan club is credible, and I think Eon's official confirmation of a 2006 release should be announced through an established news source; I mean why would Eon make a big announcement to a French James Bond club and not the majority of the world who has access to James Bond films. Shouldn't this news come from the mainstream press rather than an e-mail from a member of a French James Bond fan club? I think Eon would have more interest speaking to Sony and MGM executives than a fan club. I'm just skepticle.

The french james bond club has a very close relationship with EON and this for some times now. I can guaranty you that what the club's newsletter say is always official.
The club has proven to be a valuable source in the past. there is no doubt for me on this.

Yeah, the French James Bond Club has been the megaphone of EON Productions for a while now. It was the same with Die Another Day, a lot of official news were announced via the French Club. Plus they had exclusive photo rights on the press conference for Die Another Day in January 2002.

Good news. I'll gladly wait another two years if it means a really great Bond film.

Only question is, who will be Bond? I kinda hope they go with Brosnan since his whole tenure as Bond he's been wanting to do a "back-to-basics" film.

Right now I believe Sony getting ready to buy out MGM is a reason for why Bond 21 will not come out until middle or late 2006, and don't think it has much to do with difficulty finding a new actor or Eon's supposed problems with Pierce. Sony executives will do things differently from MGM, and this is important for both the next film and future DVD treatments.
