A View To A Kill is the best Bond song! We must all agree to that!

It is the best song, when you base it on the music chart information.
Personally though, no, it's not.

Yeah, this is all pretty easy for me to say, seeing as it is also my favourite Bond song!
But that is not the only reason I think it's the best!

I think it's not when it comes to personal choice, because nothing beats Bassey's smooth voice on a song with a slow melody and pace, strong lyrics, and just a very nice style. AKA Moonraker.

Other reasons? Oh no! Those are the only two!
1. Because it beat a Bond record.
2. Because I like it!
Oh! One more!
3. Because anything is better than Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang!

So why AVTAK specifically?
Wouldn't DAD, TWINE, or TMWTGG be equally as good if not better than AVTAK?

Hardly a reason to say A View To A Kill is the best though.
In any event, which version of MKKBB are you referring to?

Sorry, I'm kinda confused by your statement!

I think you have those reversed. AVTAK made it to #1 in the U.S. for two weeks in the summer of '85, but I think it stalled at #2 in the UK. I remember because I cheered when I heard this, and I think I even have an old tape of the American Top 40 show where Casey Kasem did a small bit on the history of Bond songs.
I like LALD best of the title songs, but I'd rank AVTAK in the top five if not to three.

You are right, technically speaking it is the best Bond song, though I think that has more to do with the popularity of Duran Duran than the popularity of James Bond.
But technically speaking the claim that AVTAK is the best Bond song is irrefutable.

Johnboy was wondering, as I can see it, why you'd list that as a reason.

It is. Dionne Warwick's version is slightly superior to Bassey's effort on the song.
It really fits the main titles.

A very smart way to put it. No song has gotten #1 in the charts like A View to a Kill by Duran Duran has, but that doesn't make it the "best" Bond song. It makes it the song that charted the highest. Music charts hardly represent everything to say whether a song is or isn't the best for everyone.

For me, the song has both achived the highest spot and sounds the best to my ears, so IMO, it is the best Bond song. I was hoping that this was the case for other Bond fans out there as well.
But as for second place, I would have to go for LALD, because it was the first "rock" Bond song. Everything before that, in Connery's era, was much more "jazzy".
But I can't think of a song which sounds better than AVTAK.

Best to the ears...good. Sounds alot better than just because it was #1.

A great choice. While trying to stay on topic on Bond music, is her songs overall or just Goldfinger?

Help
