I was watching You Only Live Twice the other night, and one thing struck me, Sean's posture during the wedding was awful! His shoulders were hunched, and his head dipped low. He is like this the entire rest of the movie.

Is he doing this as part of his cover as a humble worker, or does Sean Connery have poor posture and scapula alignment in real life?

I thought he was trying to pass himself off as a Japanese man so he slouched to be shorter...I think he looks fine in every other film.

I'm almost positive he was trying to blend in as a humble worker there.

Don't think it was any problem on Sean's part.

I don't know, I just watched this last Friday night and was wondering the same exact thing. If he was trying to blend in, Tiger's posture wasn't as bad I don't think.

What's this they say about if you hunch over when you're younger, it affects you later in life.

He was obviously trying to blend in as a simple Japanese worker. Some would say its the only time he bothers to act in the whole movie (not me though, just wanted to get that lame joke in before some other idiot did)

That was just part of the act. Real Japanese men are not usually six feet tall. :)

He was blending in.

What does bother me in YOLT, is when Bond is tied up by Helga Brandt and he says the "What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?" line with such boredom! His eyes are barely open and he has virtually no expression on his face! Was this supposed to be because ironic or a really dry witticism? If it was, then he failed miserably as that was the moment I realized Connery was bored playing the role. Of course, I could also mention the pre-credits scene with the Chinese girl, but I won't... :)

Lewis Gilbert mentions in the commentary that he kept telling Sean to keep hunching lower. He thinks they just about pulled it off, making people think he was Japanese. Ho-kay, whatever, Lewis!

Yes, Connery was bored. He was tired of the limitations of playing Bond. He was tired of the :) he got for playing Bond. He was tired of reporters following him into the restroom to continue an interview. He had had it. And it showed.

What other Bond actor does this remind anyone of now?

Connery was hunched over in other films as well. Look at his posture when he walks into the casino in Thunderball.

I noticed how Connery has a hunchback in YOLT! By looking at myself, we both have the same back!

THIS IS AWFUL FOR ME!
