Special Edition (24 Mar, 2002 03:09 a.m.):
I HATED Timothy Dalton. None of his movies are worth watching. He was actually lucky to be hired for two movies. James Bond is a gentleman, and I'd hardly call Dalton's interpretation as Bond "gentleman-like".
I call his interpretation of Bond "Fleming Like" which is how it should be.

And did I miss something. The topic line did say Dalton fans, right? The above poster seems a little hostile. Especially for a guy with just two posts.
I gave my opinions of why I like Dalton in a recent thread in the Brosnan section. Sadly, I think Dalton's Bond career is finished. But I have a good feeling a lot of people will lay off and sometime down the road reevaluate his tenure as Bond the way they have with Lazenby and OHMSS.
And as far as the Mel Gibson thing, Dalton was looked at for Bond long before him. Way back to Connery's tenure. Besides, Gibson wanted way too much money for the role.

Somewhere around here is a lot of intriguing information on an unproduced third Datlon movie. Shame it was never made.

Nice to meet you Tanger007!
Why did you call me that? That was my old nickname (you can call me it if u want though). That's quite bizarre, considering you weren't here when I used it...

"Dodgy" (UK ex-band) did a much better song of the same title

Who's this friend of yours who likes Dalton?
Some kid called Ben. We call him a whole range of names though. Dexter, Orville, Harry Potter - and that's just the teachers!
We like to tease that he has an invisable friend called Smuddy. He likes singing 'Mr. Sandman' by the Chordettes too. He's a great laugh.

Friendly word of warning, there are some strong anti-Daltonites around these parts (James looks sideways at Xen ).
Personally I rate TLD highly, and I respect what LTK is, and I don't judge it against the rest of the series.
As for Dalton in Bond21? No, I'm afraid it will never happen. The only chance he had to return as Bond was with McClory's Warhead project, and we all know what happened to that!
P.S. Thanks for your email, hope to get back to you tomorrow when I pull myself out from under the huge pile of Bond stuff

One of my mates is a huge Dalton fan. He loves Licence To Kill. He's been wanting Dalton back as Bond since Tomorrow Never Dies. Can't see it happening though.
See you around!
