Thought I'd post something a little light. I've always been a fan of stand-up comedy. Here are a few favorites.

George Carlin

Bill Cosby

Denis Leary

Billy Crystal

The list is longer but this is a good start. :)

Nice to see I'm not the only person who likes Janeane Garofalo. She tends to be sort of hit and miss but when she's hot, she's hot. I also love Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. Chevy Chase was good up to 1989.

Not sure what happened there. Another one of my posts got put here.

My all-time comedy hero is Dennis Miller. The way the guy uses language dazzles me.

Seinfeld is up there too. He put together one of the greatest comedy series of all time.

When the mood hits, I also really like Denis Leary, Richard Lewis and George Carlin. And Eddie Murphy was the funniest guy in the '80s when he was still doing stand-up. I still like a lot of the SNL cast, although some have stayed consistent while others have gone mushy (Jim Belushi anybody).

Coronation Street actually, in the 1960s - infamous Brit soap. And repeated a number of times since then - last I heard this 'saying'
was 1990.

Even as a child I didn't watch The Three Stooges nor Bugs Bunny. Nicely, ironically, Izzard has himself used it! and like you, finds it hilarious. Wish I could!

I dont really get Seinfelds comedy. I hated his show. I was about nothing. The only thing funny about it was Krammer.

Peter Kay, a Northern comic who does a Tv programme called Phoenix Nights here in the UK and the funniest stand=up comedy you will ever see. He sold out all of his performances for an 18 month tour of the Uk recently... thats how popular and funny he is. The sooner you Americans get him the better although I presume much of the comedy would be lost in translation. He's very British... and when I say British I don't mean London... or indeed Manchester... I mean Bolton!!!
