Int. Hotel Lobby

Bond walks through the lobby with a sexy brunette woman - this is Claudia Fox. Bond and Claudia get in a glass lift.

Int. Glass Lift

Thug 1 gets in at the next floor. He gets into the lift.

Thug 1
Do you have a light ?

Bond
Certainly, Sir.

Bond hands Thug 1 his lighter. Thug 1 presses the button to light his cigarette. A jet of flame shoots out of the lighter. It stuns Thug 1.

Bond swings him round. He puts the body between himself and Thug 2 (on a balcony) who attempts to shoot Bond. Bond drops Thug 1 and pulls out his gun. Bond fires at Thug 2 and hits him - between the eyes.

Claudia reacts to the sudden carnage.

Claudia
Commander Bond ?

Bond
He didn't say please ...

Thug 1 starts to recover. Bond punches him in the face.

Bond (continued)
Or thankyou. Oh yes, only my enemies call me Bond.
My friends call me James ...

The doors open and reveal an attractive caucasian man - this is Alexei Nemerov.

Nemerov
Good afternoon, James. I'd appreciate if you could do
me the pleasure of dying now to save me the trouble of
killing you later ...

Bond
I'd like to. But I can't.

Nemerov raises his gun and points it at Bond.

Nemerov
Why can't you just be a good boy for once ?

Bond
If I did that, I wouldn't have the pleasure of kicking
your **** from here to eternity.

Nemerov
That's very presumptious of you.

Bond
It may be presumptious. But it's also correct.

Nemerov
Really ?

Bond
Yes.

Bond swings round and punches Nemerov in the face and he knocks the gun out of his hands. Nemerov enters the lift, Claudia backs into a corner. Bond kicks out.

Bond
Have a nice trip.

Nemerov smashes through the glass and screams as he falls to the floor below. Bond walks calmly to the smashed glass and looks down.

Bond
He set himself up for a fall.

Bond turns back and takes in the lift - the smashed furniture and then Claudia. He straightens his tie and brushes his jacket sleeves down ...

Claudia
Is that how you greet your friends ?

Bond
No. But this is ...

Bond kisses Claudia - passionately.

Claudia
Then you must have a lot of friends.

Bond and Claudia go to a bedroom ...

Ext. MI6 Headquarters

Moneypenny is sitting at her desk doing some paperwork. M walks in:

M

Moneypenny
He's in Monaco, Ma'am. I'll put a call through to his
hotel ...

Int. Second Bedroom

Bond has been making love to Claudia who is now clad in revealing lace underwear. She picks up the phone and hands it to him.

Moneypenny (voice)
Hello James. How is Monaco ?

Bond
(off Claudia)
Stimulating. What can I do for you, 'Penny ?

Moneypenny (voice)
M has ordered you to pull out of Monaco. She has
cancelled your vacation ...

Bond
(irritated)
Delightful.

Bond leans down and kisses Claudia passionately.

Moneypenny (voice)
James. What are you doing ?

Bond
I'm just putting some details on ice ...

Bond puts the phone ( along with his gun ) into an ice bucket.

Moneypenny (voice)
James ? James ?

Bond leans down and kisses Claudia. We pan to two empty glasses next to an almost empty bottle of champagne.

Moneypenny (voice)
James ? James ?

Claudia
(moaning)
Oh, James ...

We cut to the title sequence: girls, guns and figures with two faces with a slow jazzy song ( quite like the song from TSWLM ).

Bond opens the door and enters:

He's Double-Oh Eight. He has been for almost nine
years. Why ?

M
He's gone missing. Following the assault on your
life in Monaco, there were assaults on the lives of
Double-Oh Nine, Double-Oh Five and Castle.
(beat)
Double-Oh Nine and Double-Oh Five were murdered
and Castle is currently missing. We thought he may
be dead, but ...
(looks down at some papers)
We recieved an anonymous call from a woman who
claims to know the whereabouts of Double-Oh Eight.

Bond
The woman might be lying.

M
Maybe. But I'd prefer that you to go and meet with
the woman who put through the call just to be sure.
(pulls out a pair of BA tickets)
Here is your ticket, I took the liberty of having Miss
Moneypenny make the arrangements. You shall be
travelling first class ...

travelling through the clouds.

M (voice)

Bond walks through the terminal towards the doors.

M (voice)
Q will meet you there.

A tall caucasian man in a business suit and stylish shades approaches Bond - this man is Felix Leiter. He is a CIA operative and an old friend of Bonds.

Felix
James !

Bond turns to see Felix - the two men shake hands.

Bond
Felix. How's the leg ?

Felix
Let's just say that San Monique has a truly amazing
health service. If you'd like to follow me, Q is waiting
for you ...

Bond and Felix exit the terminal.

Ext. Private Airplane Hangar

Bond and Felix walk up to the hangar - the large doors are closed. Felix opens up a smaller door in the larger one and the two men enter the hangar.

Int. Private Airplane Hangar / Q Field Office

Bond and Felix walk into the temporary Q Lab. There is a brand spanking new Aston Martin Zagato in the middle of the hangar and it is being attended to by technicians. Other technicians work at other stations around the room. Q approaches the duo.

Q
Konnichi-wa, 007.

Bond
Impressive, Q. It's nice to see you've put some effort
into a field assignment ...

Q (tongue in cheek)

Q leads Bond and Felix across the hangar.

Q
We have been working on a few interesting items for

Q hands Bond his new watch whilst the trio continues to walk.

Bond, Felix and Q approach the Aston Martin Zagato.

(he walks around the car whilst he describes it)
Aston Martin Zagato. We have coated the car with
chobam armour and reactive skins. If you would like
to step behind this barrier ...

Bond and Felix go to stand behind the barrier. Q picks up his body armour and puts it on. He picks up a gun from a nearby bench and points it at the Aston Martin Zagato.

(yells)
Clear !

He fires. The bullets refract off the car ... some barely missing Q who remains calm in the middle of everything. He takes off the body armour.

Q
Like so. Not only that, but the metal is self healing. I
also took the liberty of using an electrically sensitive
paint which changes colour. You have also got your
usual interchangeable license plate which gives your
car the ability to change identity ...

Q picks up the key fob and presses a button - the Aston Martin Zagato changes from gleaming silver into a metallic blue.

Q
Several times.

Bond
Where's the adaptive camouflage ?

Q
You damaged the first prototype with your offensive
driving, 007.

Bond
Offensive driving, Q ?

Q
Yes. It offended me.

Felix laughs. Q walks over to a bench picks up a mobile phone and hands it to Bond.

Q
Your mobile phone. It is also the remote control for
the Zagato ...

Bond
That could come in handy.

Q
Yes, it could. Don't you have a job to attend to ?

Q tosses Bond the mobile phone.

Q
Now get out of here, 007.

Q looks round at a gorgeous Japanese woman in the background wearing a lab coat, glasses and with her hair tied back in a bun.

Q (cont'd)
I've got better things to do than let you treat me
like some lethal version of Santa Claus ...

Bond gets into the car and Felix gets in the passenger side and Bond winds down the window to speak to Q.

Bond
If you're Santa Claus - then I've been a very good
boy indeed.
(off the gorgeous Japanese technician)
