Just stumbled onto this French edition of the book.
Doesn't top the Portuguese art for the adaption of Licence to Kill... foreseeing the reaction to the film, perhaps? *ducks*

That's got to be one of the worst covers of any book of any kind. Do you have to be Portugese to get it or is it really that bad?

They have...in fact there is a whole thread here on CBn dedicated to pointing out instances in which EON have ripped off the Gardner books...

Do you know any websites that carry pictures of the first five Gardner covers as they were when first released in hardback in the UK? I found them on Bondian.com but they weren't big enough to use as background wallpaper. Icebreaker is a particular fave cover of mine. I'd like to do a big blow up of it for my PC. It's also the closest i'll get to having a first edition. I just can't stump up the bucks needed for a pristine original.

I emailed you a very high res ICEBREAKER (hope it doesn't take you and hour to download), and the only Mighter Than The Sword that I have (per your email).
Enjoy. And welcome to CBn, btw.

The folks on these forums are much friendlier and easier to approach (you know, textually) than i expected. I was hesitant about registering in case it was all close knit and no-one would talk to me. I'm pleased to find people so personable.
Is there anything Bond related (or else) that i could help you out with to return the favour?
