Is this a far fetched Idea???? If Blofeld did Return, Patrick Stewart would make a excellent blofeld? Am I right????

White Persian (16 Sep, 2001 06:32 p.m.):
I think a reappearance of Blofeld would be very fitting fortieth anniversary tie in with the early Bonds.

You're right. Now is a good time to bring back Blofeld. SPECTRE can bookend the forty years of Bond on the big screen.

P.S. Do you suppose we're related, Blofeld's cat?

Maybe. Which one of us got kicked in DAF?
I notice from the members list that your are from Sydney. Before moving to Jakarta to work I used to live in East Sydney behind the Aust Museum.
Every week I would go to the Galaxy Bookshop in York St to check on anything Bond (& Star Trek, hence my push for Stewart).

Well said, Blofeld's cat.
Both Patrick Stewart and Ben Kingsley would make first rate Blofelds. If Eon really has secured the rights to use the characters again as a result of McClory losing his court case, I think a reappearance of Blofeld would be very fitting fortieth anniversary tie in with the early Bonds.
But...to overcome the Dr Evil factor, a first rate actor would have to be cast. Stewart or Kingsley could pull it off.
Sorry for my absence recently, but I had logging in problems which Daniel has kindly fixed for me.
P.S. Do you suppose we're related, Blofeld's cat?

Fingers crossed on Blofeld returning. I think the series needs to rediscover its roots at this moment in time. The series has been missing something recently and the key villian has always been a bit of a letdown. The return of BLOFELD would be like the return of Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes, an ablsolute must. And as to the choice of actor that should play him, may I suggest that they return to the faceless entity that orchastrated the mayhem from a safe distance in the earlier Bond films. That way they don't have to kill him off so quickly again. Also they might attract a big name that wouldn't mind just doing the voice-over. It's just a thought.

I think Patrick Stewart would make a great Blofeld, or if not Blofeld a different Bond villain. He has played the role of a villain before in Conspiracy Theory.

He's also Charles Xavier in The X-Men.

And yes you're right Zorin, he'd make a fantastic Blofeld!

It's a shame we can't have McClory killed in the pre-title sequence...:)

What a great idea, a-la 'Blofeld' in FYEO.
Have a McClory look-a-like killed off in the pre-credit sequence as a symbolic visual reference to his shenanigans being killed off.
I like it!

It's alright now, I edited my last post.
Crude, but it gives you a visual idea of him as Blowwers (not Henry :) ).
Maybe someone can come up with a better one. I was looking for a shot with the cat.

Personally I think Ben Kingsley (Ghandi and Sexy Beast). He is a truly fantastic actor, menacing and very versatile. Check out Sexy Beast to show how terrifying he can be.

Personally I'd rather have Patrick Stewart over Ben Kingsley. While both are some of the best actors living at the moment, I have a strong preference for Stewart. Blofeld was originally British. Keep him British. (Telly Salavas wasn't bad, but like Lazenby, there was no accent to the character.) I'm a huge fan of Star Trek when I get to see it (read: Enterprise this Wed. night) and ST:TNG was perfect. Stewart can act anytime. It would be perfect. Bond 20 involving SPECTRE in some way. Hmm. It's a shame we can't have McClory killed in the pre-title sequence...:)

We know that he could be bought back by definitely one way;

As we know in DAF, there were 2 clones of Blofeld Bond killed, how do we know the one in FYEO wasn't? It could have been, and if EON bought him back, I think this is the way they'd go? Does anyone else agree?

Agreed.
We don't know for sure if he was killed in his escape pod. However, being on an isolated oil rig, if he didn't die then he would have been caught. After all, it must have been his only way of escape, otherwise he would not have used it.

AND PLEASE, NO SON, BROTHER, OR ANY OTHER UNKNOWN RELATIVE TO TAKE UP THE FIGHT!!

Patrick Stewart is very good as Jean-Luc Picard, but as a Bond villain ?....you guys are kidding me aren't you ?. In my view, casting name actors as Bond villains tends to back fire. Case in point is Robert Carlyle was is disappointing as Renard in TWINE, yet a lesser known actress such as Sophie Marceau is brilliant as Elektra !. Can anybody explain why Stewart would make a good Bond villain ?????.

Lets see...
He can act,
He is bald,
He is well known world wide,
He has great screen presence,
He is British (except for Telly they all were)
He will attract all the 'Trekkers' who were never interested in Bond
and...
...Oh yes, he can act.
