I've never bought anyone of these yet but this might be a good way to start to read them. Hopefully the Omnibus has many stories.

It would just be nice, if they're going to retread this territory, that they might offer it in hardcover this time around. That's going to be a thick volume, so it would be nice to have it in a durable format.

If there's any guarantee that they plan to follow this through with omnibus collections of all of the other comic strips, I'd be tempted to pick this up.

Agreed. I'm surprised the price is roughly only $2 higher than their usual costs for these volumes (considering this one is essentially three of those volumes in one).

I've put in a correction. We'll see if it sticks...

I agree that this is cheap. I'll give it a go, as I haven't got any of the previous ones and this seems like a good way to check them out.

I think a photo cover is a big mistake. It's going to confuse people into thinking this is a collection of the novels. Use artwork from the actual strips.

I like the cover. Not sure what I think about "The Movie Collection" tag.

So 'Risico' is part of the movie collection, eh? Are they trying to tell us something. wink.gif

More likely that Risico was adapted into FYEO.

I'm curious to whether this'll be a straight reprint from the same quality sources or Titan has been looking around for alternatives. A better reproduction of Goldfinger including the first two ommitted strips from the original UK run would be enough for me to rebuy the whole damn thing.
Now, an "extended" Thunderball with the additional week's worth of strips seen in the rarities section translated back into English and reinserted...is it too much to hope for?

Here's Lycett on the subject: "Ian at first was cautious. He feared, irrationally, that Bond in comic form would lead to a falling-off in the standard of his books . . . . But by the time the first James Bond strip appeared in the Daily Express . . . Ian had managed to overcome his misgivings. As he told his publisher, the Express was paying through their teeth for the privilege and he expected it would have a useful effect on sales."

Just the UK Qwerty? It's a shame they don’t wake up and smell the salt, I am sure they would shift just as many in the US if not more. Same for all Lit. I would say over 50% of regular users on CBn are Stateside. Does this happen with most releases?

Oh it will be here too, just not until 20 October - http://commanderbond.net/7171/titans-ian-f...nd-omnibus.html

The Titan Bond releases always come out a little earlier in the UK and then follow in the US.

As always you can not find it in store at Borders and Barnes And Noble, when you want to type in your zip code at their website. It will always say Not available in stores. So you can't even type your zip code to which of their stores in your are has it. The only way is order from them online or from amazon.com. That is how all the other ones were and how it will be for future ones.

Jack Ryan: No, no, no! Not black and white Ritter, RIGHT and WRONG! I didn't sign up for this. This is someone's [censored] pollitical agenda. Who authorized this? Cutter?
Ritter: Cutter couldn't tie his own shoes without permission.
Jack Ryan: If I go down you're coming with me.
Ritter: Wrong again. I have an authorized get-out-of-jail-free card! "The President of the United States has authorized Deputy Director of the CIA Robert Ritter etcetera, etcetera, etcetera." You don't have one of these do you Jack? Gray! The world is gray Jack!

If someone could tell me about the quality of the strips in this edition (starting from Moonraker)? Is it better than of those in the original Titan books? As far as I can remember only CR and LALD could boast the near perfect quality.

I am by no means an expert on Titan comic strips, although I have fingered through the Omnibus edition and toyed with the idea of getting one. (I seem to always finger through books in shops, odd man!) and to me it didnt look like it was super super print quality. Are we talking paper quality? or transfer of the actual strip?
