"Duran Duran want to record another Bond theme - this time with Mark Ronson."
Yes, well - I want to to a lot of things that, just like this, are never going to happen. Mods: please change the title of this thread to "Duran Duran would like to record Bond theme". ![]() ![]() |

Pretty doubtful at this late date... they're going to have to lock in a title song sometime this month if they want it to sync up with the titles and be in Arnold's score.
Sounds like Duran Duran don't have a thing written for the song at this point. This post has been edited by Fro: 2 July 2008 - 13:12 |

This is just speculation based on their respective connections to Bond music (A View to a Kill and Amy Winehouse respectively).

Just heard a clip from an interview where the reporter had asked Mark Ronson if he was working on a Bond theme with Duran Duran; he said:
"I'm not allowed to talk about that.." So make of that what you will... |

Yep, could be a multitude of reasons for him not denying it.
The next bit of the interview was with Duran Duran who were saying what their favourite Bond theme was. They picked out a few before Ronson suggested AVTAK- they then agreed that that was their favourite! I think there's a chance that there might be something happening there. |

The fact he's not allowed to say anything suggest he's involved... interestingly he didn't say we can't talk about it - only that he couldn't.

I certainly hope not. They belong in the 80's with all that cheesy music they did.
I think it should be an instrumental but that will never happen. Not in this day and age. This post has been edited by SPOTTER: 2 July 2008 - 15:29 |

Apparently Ronson has also arranged a medley of other Bond themes using an orchestra which will then lead into A View To A Kill at the Duran Duran concert in Paris tonight. That'd be interesting to hear.
He's certainly getting deeper into Bondsville! It's BBC6music news who have been reporting all this, incidentally. |

Duran Duran is a good Band, they have some fairly good music. But they belong in the 80's not in the 00's! I really can't see it happening anyway.

They don't necessiarily belong in the 80's, Mharkin..They've evolved their sound through the years. Listen to 2004's Astronaut and last years Red Carpet Massacre. Simon LeBon still has a great voice for a Bond theme..

But I'm still pushing for Rob Thomas if a male vocal is the way they want to go again, but I think a female will be chosen this time. ![]() |
