*faints due to excitement* This has got to get on the front page asap!
EDIT: ok... now that I've listened..... it seems good.... not a whole lot different than Brosnan's.. if fact it's very much like TND.. which is a good thing.... oh.. that instrumental YKMN in "I'm the Money" and "Aston Montenegro" is GREAT!! (incidentally, I now really wish that YKMN was on the CD, due to it ver clearly being used instrumentally in the film) the Vesper theme reminds me of Moonraker's love theme... just the orchestration it's entirely too short to tell what kind of Bond theme is at the end.. sound very standard.... the subtle Bond theme in Dinner Jackets... oh my.... *faints again* ![]() ![]() Daniel no longer uses this account. |

From these short clips it feels like:
(-) Arnold failed to create a new sound to a new Bond. (-) Weak theme. (+) A return to the classic Bondsound with beautiful strings and less techno. I'm looking forward to the full score now. It may be Arnold's best so far, too early to tell. ![]() |

NICE.
My personal favourite from these so far is 'Vesper.' Like deth, it reminds me slightly of the Moonraker score (which is an outstanding thing!) as well as John Barry's Enigma theme. Haunting seems to be the word for this soundtrack. ![]() |

not crazy about the 30 second snippits here...but I can't judge after all it's only 30 seconds of each song!

An improvement... |

This is really shaping up like Arnolds best yet! Sure it doesn't really go for anything new, but it really has a cool vibe going on and for some reason sounds alot fuller orchestration wise than any of his other bond scores. From the clips, it sounds like this is going to fit the film like a glove. Can't wait!

Sounds good - sounds more subdued and darker than Arnold's previous efforts, even if it's not so stylistically different from what we've gotten before. It should fit CASINO ROYALE pretty darn well, methinks.

Totally agree... everything from the subtle use of the Bond theme in dinner jackets (just to hint at Bond becoming.. well.. Bond) to YKMN being utilized throughout various other cues... very cool. Damn nice to hear the main theme being utilized so much!

Seems like a 'proper' film score in terms of Barry-esque orchestrations, if you will. Many beautiful track elements.
Somewhat surprised at the less than modern approach to the Bond theme - if it doesn't morph into something more modern outside of the 30second segment offered there. Seemed at odds with the sophistication of the rest. Anyway, since it has to be assessed with the visuals and in complete form, I'll stop here. ![]() ________________________________________________

Totally agree... everything from the subtle use of the Bond theme in dinner jackets (just to hint at Bond becoming.. well.. Bond) to YKMN being utilized throughout various other cues... very cool. Well, while it still feels like Arnold, in other ways it doesn't. It feels a full head-and-shoulders above everything he's done previously - classic, original, and actually memorable. Furthermore, the fact that he's taken stuff down a notch really helps (his overblown orchestrations really hurt him, and it's nice to see a lack of techno and no Bond theme overuse). It does feel Barry-esque throughout, maintaining that classic feel. QUOTE Damn nice to hear the main theme being utilized so much! Indeed. It sounds *fantastic* in instrumental form. ![]() |

You can almost hear the YOLT-guitar in "Dinner-jackets".
I think that action music is much better when there is a strong theme present (as in "African Rundown" maybe). I'm not a big fan of extremely dramatic music without melody as in LTK, MI-3 or perhaps even the short clip "Fall of a House in Venice". Nice, if not amazing just yet. I like the full orchestral sound and the theme sounds great. I love YKMN being used as a kind of proto-Bond theme in 'Dinner Jackets'!
Isn't 'Solange' just Jinx's motif with a bit of Moonraker-styling, though? Hard to judge this early, but sounds decent (although not exactly revolutionary- it's still obviously Arnold). Vesper's theme sounds very lush and full, though- I look forward to hearing more of that. |

I'm with marktmurphy! I loved "Dirty Martini." Suspenseful Bond music from Arnold that actually creeps me out a bit...
And Vesper is shaping up to be a great love theme... Couldn't be happier with the Bond theme. Really looking like a fantastic score. ![]() |
