Terence Cooper IS James Bond!
He claimed that fellow Irishman Kevin McClory wanted him to play Bond in Thunderball in the early 60s. ![]() ![]() |

terence cooper is pretty damn cool, i like the idea behind David Niven's Bond as well, the code name theory actually sounds like a good idea when CR 67 starts, just before it all goes wildly out of control...

Indeed. Would have played marvellously as a straight picture. But obviously the filmmakers were more concerned with ruining Bond's name than creating a worthy text. I always happened to think Cooper was a pretty cool Bond, he seemed to be the closest to the real thing. ![]() ![]() Agent T the Lone Wolf |

well sure, Terence Cooper did a good job, but Peter Sellers was the best!
The Phan- i mean David Niven was, of course, the worst James Bond 007 of all time! ![]() |

Peter Sellers was brilliant. Too bad he took sick ... and the producer told him not to bother coming back to the set. They finished the film without him, which personally I think was a mistake.

The Phan- i mean David Niven was, of course, the worst James Bond 007 of all time! to be fair, i don't think he was actually sick when he said he was. i have a strong heounch he was only faking because the next scene he was supposed to do was a full casino across the table from Orson Welles, whom he hated. perhaps he really was sick, but i think he just didn't wanna shoot that scene. it's a pity, but i have to agree with the producer's call on that, too. you can't have actors running around and pretending they're all-important when there's work that needs to be done! even if it was Peter Sellers! ![]() |

All this time I thought it was Orson Welles who didn't want to shoot the scene with Sellers. my understanding was that the feelings were mutual, so to speak. that's how i heard it, anyway. ![]() |

It would have to be Terence Cooper for me as well. The only true bit of Bond in that whole movie. What ever was going through their heads when they made that film?
